Looking through the parts at lambostuff.com, I am having a difficult time figuring out what script emblem to get for the LP640. Are these script emblems all 8"? Are they all physically the same and interchangeable? I can't see a difference between them (other than the price of course).
Part 400853742A ($365.58) says it is good up to the regular 2006 Murci Coupe: http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.24391/action.1/qx/product.htm (http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.24391/action.1/qx/product.htm)
Part EMBNOS8INSC ($60.00) does not list any models: http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.20105/action.1/qx/product.htm (http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.20105/action.1/qx/product.htm)
Part 0094004121 ($99.85) list the Diablo: http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.16711/action.1/qx/product.htm (http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.16711/action.1/qx/product.htm)
Part 470853742 ($153.76) lists the Aventador: http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.85335/action.1/qx/product.htm (http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.85335/action.1/qx/product.htm)
I would like the cheapest physically identical part possible. Any insight would be appreciated.

::wave Not sure where you are going wrong in your search - but you should have come up with 400853742B , that is a much more reasonable price in comparison. Oh , and don't forget to get a couple of the nuts which hold it on .(4mm )
-
Thanks String. You've done it again! :)
That part (400853742B) is $153.76. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what if any physical differences there are between that official part and EMBNOS8INSC ($60.00) & 0094004121 ($99.85)? I assume they must be different but I sure can't see it (maybe different size). If they are the same except for the part number, I think I'll just go with one of them.

String was dead on! http://www.lambostuff.com/product.asp?prid=43209&webcat=no (http://www.lambostuff.com/product.asp?prid=43209&webcat=no)

Here is another one http://www.bullstuff.com/lamborghini-emblem-rear-gallardo-murci-pn-400853742B (http://www.bullstuff.com/lamborghini-emblem-rear-gallardo-murci-pn-400853742B)
They have 5 in stock! ::bounce

Thanks guys. I have requested a quote from Lamborghini Carolinas since I heard they pretty much have the best prices around.

the difference is obvious from the picture ...... do not you see?
That cheap is just a sticker .... The expensive type (400853742A) is a beautiful piece of machined metal material (stainless steel by arch shaped bonnet), which is attached with two screws.
I have one expensive type 400853742A now also on sale ... If someone you are really interested. I recommend rather than a piece of ugly stickers.
You can PM me. ::LAMBO
-
Nope. I can't tell they are stickers form the images. I will say they are pretty crappy images.
-
It looks like it's on a piece of paper to me..? ::scratch I have the script and it's solid piece with two fasteners on the back, I agree with Bierhanzel it's the $365.58 one. Which is very understandable comparing it to all other parts made by Lamborghini.
It's not right but I can see them selling a 3 dimensional sticker in the $100 range easily.
I hope anyone buying will at least make sure first.

The best price I have found on the badge/emblem so far are as follows:
Hood Badge: 400853745C - $172.50
Rear Script Emblem: 400853742B - $153.76
These are from Glen "AMHParts" on www.lamborghini-talk.com (http://www.lamborghini-talk.com). Anyone have experience with him?
I still haven't checked with Lamborghini Carolinas yet.

Hi,
My rear script is also metal with M4 threaded studs , however I suspect the 'B' suffix part is plastic (chromed) as I just checked ,it uses clips to secure it rather than nuts , and having recently purchased the interior script ( on the A/C lid) , which also uses the same clips - and is indeed a plastic part.
-
Thanks String. I appreciate you telling me that before I made a purchase. I will get a best price on 400853742A.
I assume I have the right part number on the Hood Badge - 400853745C? Now I wonder what the "C" means. ::scratch
-
That's easy - with the VAG part number system you break it into 3 groups of 3 numbers ,these then tell you the vehicle model ,which part of the vehicle and ultimately which side - the part is on. The letter suffix denotes updates to the parts specification A,B and now to C. You will see that the C has gone to a single stud fixing , whereas earlier versions had three stud fixings, any slight change will result in a part no. update. :)
Cheers

You are really amazing String! ::headbang
Thanks for the insight!
I just heard from AMH Parts and his price on the rear emblem script 400853742A is $310.
Anyone purchased from this guy before?
-
I offer you for 300USD including shipping.
-
That is a decent offer bierhanzel. I will consider it but I am going to continue to look around.
-
I got mine for $119 from Lambostuff.
-
I wonder how you got that price? It seems inflation is killing us. ;)
-
They dont cost much more than that. I think they gave me a discount at the time, since I ordered all my stuff from them (grills, emblems, taillights, door handles, etc).
-
Well I am confused. the lambostuff price is now $365.58: http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.24391/action.1/qx/product.htm (http://www.lambostuff.com/xq/asp/webcat.yes/prid.24391/action.1/qx/product.htm)

So it looks like we have come full circle here. I was originally looking at 400853742A but was then told about the cheaper 400853742B part. It was then discovered that 400853742B was plastic which I don't want (thanks String) so now I am back to 400853742A. Since I am really not keen to pay $300+ for this part (it isn't solid gold is it?), but I would still like metal, I am wondering if there is another part that is metal that has the same dimensions I could use instead.

I wouldn't worry about it being plastic or metal, some of the real Lamborghini’s use the plastic one and not even the owners can tell. Most of the new cars have the plastic emblems anyways.
-
That is a good point. I just figured the chrome may come off easier on the plastic due to weather. Heck both my cars parked in the driveway have plastic chrome emblems I'm sure. Maybe I am sweating the small stuff here.
-
Wow.....
What size are the script that you are looking for?
I need to raise my prices (I am sure I will still run into some price drama... lol)....
The ones I have are also metal as well as screws/nuts in the back, I also have few 8" as well

Thanks

Thanks CCIE. It looks like you do have good prices and I'd rather have metal. I'm not sure what size I need. It is pretty difficult to get solid information. Maybe someone could measure theirs? Murci-Me? I think they are 8" but I'm not sure.
I think the 5" versions are for the dash...but again, I am not sure. If anyone knows and wants to chime in, that would be great.
I wish I knew if there were subtle differences between these different script part numbers. I guess if I can't see them, I shouldn't worry about it. :)
BTW, what are you asking for your metal 8" scripts?
Mike
