Audi A6. The switch is the same, but you need to get the surround for it. I made my surrounds, I can send you some you just need to paint them silver.

The OEM switches are not that expansive around $45 or so each...

Murcie is there a reason that you won't answer my question about the switches  that I have ask you about a couple times, I sent a couple pm's but still no reply, just wondering.

The question was where did you get your switches and if you did make yours would you be interested in making another set, thanks.

I just saw your pm tonight, I usually view the forum from my phone but for sme reason I cant check my messages when I do.
My center console switches are made by NKK, but are a discontinued. You can use any low profile momentary push button switch that is lighted, there are alot available on Ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/20x-Push-Switch-Without-Lock-Green-Light-R16-503BD-/150619320414?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23119c705e (http://www.ebay.com/itm/20x-Push-Switch-Without-Lock-Green-Light-R16-503BD-/150619320414?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23119c705e)

These are available in red, blue, green, yellow and white. Get whatever color you want your center console illumination to be at night.

Did you make some kind of cover for the buttons to get that oe look? Also the rings around the switches, I bought some OEM switches and the surrounds but 105 bucks for those is stupid, anyway thanks for the reply I really appreciate it.

Yes, I made covers that attach to the top of the switch, they are dome shaped like the OEM style. The chrome surrounds on mine are actually polished aluminum. They are cut from 1" (I think) aluminum tubing, then the edge is rounded and polished. They are then press fit into the center console cover plate (mine is carbon fiber). They are not part of the switch, they are just a trim ring that remains with the center console switch plate.

That car is the SV though, are you saying there are newer lp640's with those switches? Just trying to get clarification on that since there aren't any 670 builds here

2009 and up LP640's started using those switches. I looked at an 08 and 09 a couple weeks back, the 08 had the old style and the 09 had the kind MM talks about.

BTW guys, the pic of the switches Murci-Me posted a while back appear to be from the A4 & A8, as opposed to the A6. The A4 & A8 switches also appear to be the same as those in the later LP640's on.

Edit: It looks like some of the A6 switches may be the same and some aren't. I guess we just have to be careful.

You are correct. They are from the mid to late 90's A4, S4, A6. Here is the part number 4D0959855.

It's really simple to figure out with a multi-meter. I can draw a pin out if needed.

Are you going to use the Audi or the older Murcielago switch?

Here is a simple diagram for a DPDT switch:

I haven't seen this posted anywhere so I figured it may not be common knowledge.

After hours of research, I believe I have found an exact replacement for the power mirror switch. I believe the switch is made by Airtex. It is supposedly used in some models of Cadillac Catera but I was unable to verify that. The part number is 90432360. I found one on eBay and snagged it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-01-98-99-97-cadillac-catera-power-side-view-mirror-switch-90432360-/360676630233?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53fa009ed9&vxp=mtr&autorefresh=true (http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-01-98-99-97-cadillac-catera-power-side-view-mirror-switch-90432360-/360676630233?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53fa009ed9&vxp=mtr&autorefresh=true)

The switch is actually pretty common in Germany for some reason. It was used in a vehicle called the Opel Omega B. If you do a search for that part number on http://www.ebay.de/ (http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=90432360&_sop=15), you'll find several of them.

I couldn't find any other switches with the amber light (what is that for anyway?) on the U.S. eBay site. However, the switch without the light is fairly common in the U.S. and is used in a few GM vehicles. I have confirmed it is used in some Saturns (including the Vue), some Saabs (sometimes with an extra button) and a very similar switch actually appears to have been in the Delorean (good luck finding that one)!

Here is a new one without the light: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AIRTEX-1S7613-Switch-Mirror-Door-Mirror-Switch-/360754997073?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53feac6751&vxp=mtr (http://www.ebay.com/itm/AIRTEX-1S7613-Switch-Mirror-Door-Mirror-Switch-/360754997073?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53feac6751&vxp=mtr)

I hope this saves someone a lot of time (and money). :)

I have that switch, mine came from an 03 Catera.  You just have to keep checking on EBay since the one with the light is not very common.  I think the light is for mirrors with heaters, but I'm probably wrong  ;D

Here is a picture of my switches along with the bezels that SchulzeA made for me.

Sweet. The paint on the one I won is worn so I'll probably try to win another one later but at least I have something. Yours looks great!

Are your other buttons OEM? The look like it.

The bezels look great. I somehow missed those for sale. How much? Are they still available?

Yes they are OEM window and lock switches.  I don't know if SchulzeA is still making them, you would need to check with him.

you could most likely go to a junk yard and they won't charge for the switch, mine with the light was from a cadillac catera certain year I forget what it was though. Good idea to also grab the side markers from the same car.

Yes, the side markers are the same.  If you are going to have the Euro style markers on the front then you only need 2 for the rear bumper.

Right, thanks Petro. I do prefer the European side marker in the front. They don't have a side marker in the rear right? Are we required to have them on cars we build since we are not official manufacturers?

You know, there are enough drop-in substitute parts for these cars that I think we should have a "sticky" thread where we can keep all this info together and the first post could be updated as new information comes up. I wouldn't mind keeping it up-to-date. Anyone else think it would be valuable?

BigPines,  I drew that up a long time ago.  It is how I have mine wired.  It works.
Just be sure of your orientation to the switch and terminals when looking at the real switch

Since there are several types of this switch I'll throw in my connection guide for the Saturn type mirror switch. There are only 8 connectors in this switch. I used old computer cable connectors pushed onto each pin. Then I used silicone to create a plug to support the wires in the switch.

Decided to try and make the newer window switch surround since I already had the correct audi switches
and this is based on the width of the switch and what length I could come of with by looking at pics
Switch was at home when I took this but it fits nicely

I'm trying to copy it into plastic so I don't have to go through fabbing another one up

edges and corners still need to be rounded

Metric for me though , also if you have an idea of how you want to mount it that could be added on the bottom .  :D
