45,000?
That's the highest price I have ever seen a kit go for.
Too rich for my blood...

You know, if a kit car is nice like this one, I don't think that price is out of line. Think about what went into this build. For one, it is built on a custom frame. $45K isn't completely insane for a nice car.

Not at all. $45,000 is a reasonable price. With kit cars it's all about what people are willing to pay and quality of build. There is no blue book in this hobby.

Since someone apparently won the auction for $45K, I guess it is worth $45K. Supply and demand. Regardless, they could easily have that much into the car.
