Fact or Faked?

Seeing a Lamborghini Aventador in Dubai is a fairly common occurrence. You can see them on the streets donning various finishes, wheels, wraps and kits. But this is the first solid gold Aventador in Dubai, and unquestionably the most expensive.

Ok guys.. here is the story behind this very real Lamborghini made of solid gold.

Seeing a Lamborghini Aventador in Dubai is a fairly common occurrence. You can see them on the streets donning various finishes, wheels, wraps and kits. But this is the first solid gold Aventador in Dubai, and unquestionably the most expensive.

The model was crafted by Robert Gulpen Engineering (RGE)  in Germany and was carved from a 500-kilogram block of solid gold, with the finished product weighing 25 kilograms. Along with the gold, this 1:8 model contains various precious gemstones and metals all valued at $2.64 million on their own. Altogether, this model has a pricetag of $7.5 million, with $650,000 going to charity. Of course, the model features no drivetrain and lacks the V12 power and mechanical components found in a real Aventador.

The golden Aventador being displayed in a Dubai showroom is actually a finished prototype, and RGE  is currently waiting for investors to show interest in acquiring their own solid gold Lamborghini. The company does state that with the model comes three Guinness world records, including Most Expensive Model Car, Most Secure Showcase and Most Luxurious Logo.

I have just a few problems with the articles that describe the model.  First: they state that it is a prototype so that they can take orders for a gold plated one.  Second: they state that it was carved out of a solid 500 Kilo (1105#) block of gold down to a 25 Kilo (52#) 1:8 th model.  Where did the 475 Kilos disappear to??  Third: buy it as an investment??  Why, do you think that people are going to line up to pay you more than you have already paid??

It appears that the original source had some facts wrong and this isn't "solid gold".

Just give me a broom and I'll sweep up the shavings.
