Post by: CCIE on October 21, 2013, 11:30:46 PM
All.

Just saw this on ebay.....
Did not know any kit builder in Chicago area. Any one know who this is and if this is even legit.
Thoughts any one?

I emailed for some more info. He's not sure about what glass would fit right now.

Glass would be my main concern on any of these Aventador kits right now too. I am kind of surprised more people don't plan the glass into the model while it is still in the computer - before the foam plug is cut. That way, they could tweak the model to fit OEM or any other off-the-shelf glass. ::scratch

Hot rodders have custom glass made all the time for their chopped street rods , I don't understand why custom glass is such an issue for kit car builders?

You can't just find a junkyard glass that's "close "

The reason why it is such an issue for me is because it is expensive and more difficult to get. It is also completely avoidable.

Sure, it *CAN* be done but I don't want to have to do it. The setup costs alone are thousands for a complete set. Why, why, why can't we just do it right from the beginning?

Did you check?
Other kits were made to work with $100 glass and no one would ever know the difference

I saw his original thread. That area is just south of the city about 45 minutes from me. It's an area of residential and malls, I don't remember much industrial around there, but that area has changed a lot. My wife grew up right there.
Like I said before it's not what I'm looking to build, but if someone wants me to check out the digs, I'll contact them and see what they've got.

Hey guys. for the windshield it might be hard to find a donor. I am planning to make available a new lower windshield base that would require less height for the windshield. I saw this with another ventador build, the guy used an accord windshield.
