How do we block this eBay picker? I don't want to sift through a hundred messages from eBay each time I check the forum. I feel like I am being spammed
-
Why not catagorize all of the posts into their respective groups under the group title and give the number of posts each day? That way all that is required is to click on the group that you want to read up on. Jim

I think it's OK, just don't open it, if you'r not interested , When you are looking on Ebay in Lamborghini parts there are 3 millions of pages with parts that are not Lambo. this way you can get heads up on real parts. rather than Honda but fits Lamborghini .

It ruins the point of using the front page for "recent posts."
Soon this thread will be invisible and no one will know it exists unless they happen to catch it in time.
If you want to see the ads then why not go to that forum to see them?

OK then ,maybe KC or MM have better front page set up ??
-
It is a problem.
I hate people like that. Although they think they are doing us a favor by letting us know abut the great "deals" they have to offer, they just clog up the posts. If they want to advertise, pay up.
Maybe you could find out who they are and find a way to either block them or let them know we don't appreciate what they are doing,
I couldn't log on to the site and I think it was because they were "busy" posting.
Please keep the "latest postings page". I like it that way.

I was playing around with some new code this weekend and thought I'd try out building an "EBay alert" for OEM and replica parts. I was going to set up a poll and put it to a vote whether we keep it or not. None of these alerts are sponsored by EBay or anything and I just wondered what it would look like if I automated some searches since many users post links to this information anyhow. The problems I'm running into is creating a query in EBay without picking up all the other stuff that sellers associate with the keywords (everything from magnets to vinyl film). I'm thinking of narrowing the searches down to just a couple of the most commonly looked for parts and looking for ways to keep these feeds from appearing in the recent topics section. For now, I'll turn off the search for the OEM parts and leave the replica search on since it's not as many returns. I'll do some more testing and give it another try once I've made some changes (cracking a few eggs to make an omelette). ;)
Any suggestions for commonly searched OEM parts?
Thanks,
Chris

I agree the eBay stuff has made it difficult to keep up on the real posts in the forum. I like to look at every post but this make it difficult to find the real posts.
If we could keep those eBay posts from cluttering up the recent posts section, I wouldn't mind so much.

Is it possible to have a epay section that doesn't show on the recent posts?

Okay boss man. It's clear you dislike me voicing my opinion. It is obvious that everyone else shares my opinion not yours. Maybe KC or MM will have less people doing that? Do what YOU want. I will be sure to do what I want. I don't have a problem with Chris and how he runs this forum because so far he does what is right for the members but you are a different story.

Im not a boss man , please dont start up.
I though it is nice to have heads up on lambo parts rather than Spend hours search on ,ebay nothing else. I bought many parts on ebay for my Diablo , so i know what it rakes in our limited time to search for some..
You guys want to ban me ,vote for it , I'm cool with it

Guys.. I wasn't offended by any of the feedback on the "EBay Picker" stuff so not one else should be either. Like I stated before, it was something new that I was trying and some people liked it and some people didn't.. no problem. :D I walk away with an understanding that it does have some value however it has to be "turned down" so that it doesn't flood the topic area. I'll continue to work on it and hopefully I'll get it balanced out so everyone likes it.
I appreciate the constructive feedback intended on making the site a better place.
Thanks,
Chris
