Post by: fsoriano2828 on May 21, 2014, 11:51:17 PM
Hello forum...  Staring a new Merci build fiero chassis with LS3 engine and undecided on the tranny; G6 six speed or getrag... I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on paddle shifter kit to convert an automatic tranny...

I've heard of some guys making there own actuated shifting mechanisms to shift using an automatic, Murci-Me would be one of them! Also there is mastershift.com but you'll spend some money there! They have a paddle shift designed to work with manual transmissions!

Or an audi tiptronic transmission then all you need to do is take the 2 switches out of the gear selector +/- part and use them with paddles. And seems more realistic than just selecting through a regular prndl

I make an adapter for the LS engines to the Audi automatic which can be shifted with a paddle shifter.  Stay away from paddle shifters on a manual as they will tear up your synchronizers in sort order.  PM me or email to eric@kitcarchassis.com for details.

Guys, This could be of use to someone, it allows a paddle shift to be added to a BMW v12 running the original trans, if the trans was pointed to the front and the drive put through a v drive back to the original diff as KevKev did then it allows a paddle shifter.

Looks like about 18.5-19 inches.
