You are going to have a great project, I really like how you are planning everything out.  Will you be picking up your body from Aventcar personally?   I am also building a 640 on a NAERC chassis and had to modify some parts of the frame to fit my body.  It will be very interesting to find out how the Aventador body will fit on the chassis.  If it fits well I know what my next project will be ::thumbup. Hi autopro
When i finally got the body home from aventcar i will adjust parts from the originale naerch drawings to right lenght and size so it will be easy for next one to use the drawings. It will be the same numbers at the scaduals but different sizes. I have close contact with Norweegian state department to make the best solutions for finnish product of the car so it will be easy to get the reg plates. I will also use so much parts from the bmw as i can. offcourse it will be modyfied but mostly the things will talk together good. I do this only for fun and will give you guys all this for free. It have been as a work before but now it is as a hobby  ;) A popular tv team who broadcast in north of europe will follow this project so i will try my best to make this so it will be fun to see at tv.
My wish in this forum is to chear our hobby interest. and i`m not here for make money :)

Wow!!! Following this with extreme interest from Greece. I have a buddy in Norway, who lives in Fredrikstad, is that close to Hell Stethy? The most interesting part of your build will be the modifications to the chassis you will make. Please cover that in great detail. I'll see if my buddy will send DVD's of the TV Show. I commend you on being the first to work out the logistics on how the body will mesh with the chassis. Very pioneering of you, I wish you the BEST of luck!!

Hi Stethy I found you have a Facebook page that has your photos, so its good to follow your build there, most of these shown here do not open, I can only view about 4 pictures and Facebook gives an error. I like the use of wood to test the chassis, I am doing the same as wood is cheap but steel is not.

Many thanks

About the suspensions.

I have already draw 3 example of suspensions,  who i discuss with my contact in Norweegian department who prove this project.
1. modifying Bmw 750i front and back suspension (so you can use originale steering, brakes, disks etc. as you already have)
2. complete set of parts at internet (who will be more costs and more difficult to put together)
3. F1 modifying suspension for 4 wheel drive with gearbox. (A complicatet system and really expensive) I will not use this one because for me it`s enough with backwheel drive and i try to hold the costs down.
Every result after the solutions with spesial unit SFOOR of Norweegian department for proove will this come here at my site. "for free off course" ;)
Finally when aventcar will be finnish with the complete body and i have meet him at Calexico and inspect his work i will off course share the result with your guys here.
I have really good feeling he will deliver really good parts and i will "NOT" copy his work! :)
He have used so many years to make it. ::thumbup

I have now ask several companys about diplays for dash and got several answears.
My questions was use all the originale signals from bmw 750i.
Everything electronic have to connected to a screen (speed, rpm, etc) as original.
Out there i think we have lot of clever people and if we stick together i think some can give us at this forum the answears. off course for free or can build this with low costs ;)

Hi guys ::wave

Now i have gome home and this is the report to everybody who are follow me and avencars job.

As i have told you before guys aventcar promised me to have the carparts redy in calexico for shipping to Norway but when i arrived Calexico usa it was still in mexicali.
Aventcar had some issue about transfer it over from mexicali to calexico. and after 3 days driving his father around to the freightcompanies to export the car. I could see he strougled to makeit and in one moment the freightcompany aske, why do you not take full transfeerinf direckly to Norway as a seald krate. but aventcar would not to do that because he would sell the body in USA.
Hi have already promissen me that and i have arranget the whole transport from calexico to Norway.

Conclusion: i have raised the price with 1800 usd to meet him at the prise so it would get smooth.
Conclusion 2: hi still could not make it.
So after several discussion. and i say, if you not arrenge it now. it will be moore loose ends about the freight. and hi have to pay all the taxess.

Actually he change the whole plane when i arrived calexico about the agreement before i took the trip from norway to usa.
So im actually littlebit stuck about. In Norway we said, prommises are importent when it so far away for the customer who will buy.
Carlos still have some issues to make it troug custm and i must set up a contract so im sure everything is in the crate so everything actually stay there when i open the crate. actually everything stay there when i open the crate here in norway
fore now i will pay him  to pay him 16338 USD fore the whole thing. i can not controllit before i pay.
I hope everything goes well now and tomorrow i will set up a contract with rules who aventacar have to follow if he will have the the payment complete.
Wish me good luck. ;)

It sounds like things didn't go smoothly at all? Sorry to hear that. It's very hard to understand some of the things you are saying. How would you feel about me having my friend in Norway contacting you and getting a direct translation? His English is very good, and it would be good to know exactly what you mean. I'm only really interested because I'm strongly considering getting the body parts from Aventcar too, but if it's a nightmare just to get them out of Mexico, it concerns me greatly. Perhaps he's better off duplicating the parts in the U.S. and avoid that whole part of the journey altogether? So if I understand you correctly, you left America without the parts shipped, but they are coming, is that correct? Or am I misinterpreting you?

Stethy and Carlos,
Do I understand that the whole problem is getting the body across the border? If so, I may be able to help. I still have a racecar hauler from when we raced in the Nascar Mexico Corona Series. Most people have no idea that Mexico has a Nascar Cup Series but I did that for three years after leaving American Nascar. I still have all of the credentials for it and Nascar. As a professional sport, we are totally exempt from Customs, Tariffs, and Duties. Because of that, we often haul auto related parts (and other parts) back and forth. The border inspectors did look at me a little funny when we had every single stone from a dismantled courthouse square, which was reassembled in my back yard, but that is a different story. I can get that body across the border no problem.

Yes i understand it was difficult to understand my txt. I saw it now when i read it myself.
But you know, i have travelled over 24 hours trip back to norway and was really tired when i wrote the  message at lamboclone. sorry for that.

As i tryed to say.
Carlos give me the location adress in calexico for crate pick up transportation to california shipping.
We was agree about the total price with tax 14500 usd.
Hi send me account nr from his father with bic/swift and name of the bank as i need.
We was agree about the time i would be in calexico 5 days to arrange this things and i always would like to see what i buy.
I also confirm i would stay in calexico until the fully payment was in to his fathers account before i departure calexico.

When i arrived calexico i take contact with carlos and say i can be at the adress any time.
He say the body is still in mexicali (mexico) so i had to come over to look at it there.
Hi have also not a passport to stay in usa so there the problem starts.
I vent to his adress in mexicali with his father and his friend. they pic me up at the hotel.
I inspect the bodyparts at his location and i said yes to buy it but they have to transport it to calexico as we was agree about before i left Norway. I also raised the price with 1000 usd for the crate and rent that location in calexico so everything should goes smooth for carlos. Final price with all taxess USD 15500. And we shake hands and was agree.
Then the really problem starts.
His father tryed to make the import to usa but the import/export company said no. we can not do it like so. They asked me what the totalprice i should pay and i told them that.
I dont understand spanish so i really dont know what they talk about, but i know something was wrong.
Carlos start to say i must pay all the taxess to, for import to usa, but i say we was agree about the price at the first place. it was so many changing about the plan so i really start to be worry about the whole agreement and sales. He also would make the crate in mexicali instead of calexico so hi would like to have cash 838 usd in hand before hi start the work because hi had no money to make it.   I`m really sorry, but i dont thrust what carlos say anymore and i will not loose the money.
This whole salesment have been nice if carlos have keept the word. I start this contact with him in may this year and i also reservate the whole transport with california shipping from calexico to Norway. I have for now no control of the situasion. I will not do any transfering of money before everything is correctly.
A tv team at viasat 4 will also make a story about carbuilders to have at their show in tv here in scandinavia about the whole building, so it would be really nice for carlos to have this reclame to another builders in tv.
So for now it is up to carlos if he want to sell me the parts and make it in calexico.
Maybee i have to take the trip one more time before everything is correctly? or?

Thank you for reading

Steinar

Wow that sounds like a nightmare bud. I'm wondering why you didn't just say to the customs agent you paid only like $500 for the body kit and Carlos and you could show some kind of written document showing this and the taxes would be much cheaper???  Maybe it wasn't as easy as i make it sound but i'm no expert in this type of transaction. Here in America when we buy a used car from someone a lot of times we can say we paid a little amount on the car to avoid paying a high sales tax.

Hi notnilc20
I can not do it like that, because i must have all the papers correctly when i will registrated the complete car here in norway.
If i missed only one custompapers here at this ore something is wrong at the numbers it will be a nightmare for me here in Norway.

Everything would be ok if carlos have been correctly at the first place and hi still work with it. I really hope this will work out nice for both of us.

There are no taxes to bring it into the USA, just somewhere under $200 for the Broker. This brings up a good point. What money, and payable to who, was the dealkiller on this?

Carlos,
You have dedicated the last many years of time and effort to these molds. Now, just when there might be the first return on investment, you have two problems. First, if you cannot get a body across the Mexican Border, you have no market. Second, with the first customer unhappy, you may not have much of a market anyway. How you handle these two problems will determine whether you ever see a return on investment, and now you have gone silent. Please make wise decisions over the next few weeks my friend.

...And I think we have an answer. Those taxes have nothing to do with crossing the border. Even if they did, they are the responsibility of Carlos because Steinar contracted to pick it up in the USA. That is the IVA tax from Mexico on the money going into the account of Carlos. It is the Mexican version of the US Federal Income Tax. It should go without saying, but that too is the sole responsibility of Carlos, and it is going to continue to be for any future body that he sells.

Hi stethy, inspire here. sorry to hear about your problems, I understand your fustration making the trip to america twice only to be empty handed both times. i hope it works out for you. If it doesnt, like we talked about earlier in the year I was going to redo all the body parts before selling you one. and I did. and just like you say "keeping your promise is important". I kept mine.

Steinar, I have all the parts, interior and exterior. Please look at the pictures and judge for yourself if you think im capable of making good parts. Also, pls understand that with my kit, it is much easier to ship, all the parts fit inside a 4'x5.5'x6' crate. The only reason that kit in the picture exists is because i put in the extra effort to make a better quality kit because i was expecting to sell one to you.

Hi steinar,

I have deal with Nate at inspire composites many times. He has done alot of custom fiberglass orderes for me. Every time I deal with him I get what I asked for and with a quick turn around. The parts weren't always the highest quality which I am ok with.
It is so hard to find reliable parts supliers in this hobby so this is more important to me. I would rather have to do some extra fiberglass work and actually have a part to work with than wait for that perfect oem part and get nothing. There are probably a handfull of reliable parts venders on here and he is one of them.

Carlos, I'm so glad to hear you are resolving your issues. As a potential customer, this is of the utmost concern to me. But in my humble opinion, I think you would do well to bring your molds to the U.S. and fabricate your parts there. Completely bypassing the entire Mexican Authority. I know your future clients would really prefer that situation as well. So I hope you will be strongly considering that option?

Rob,  ::beers

Like 76mx said you would be wise to get your protype out of Mexico, even if via taxi, piece by piece. But hey, it's your business.

Unless he is doing all the work himself , He won't be able to get cheap labor in California .

To keep costs low He will need to build them in Mexico and bring them over piece by piece if that's what's necessary

Hi everybody.
We just wait for the answears at freight company now. AND IT GOES SLOW!
Everything have been ok if the parts have been at calexico at the first time, but we know its not so easy now, specially when the body shall be exported to Norway.
Carlos and i we are agree it will take some time. One thing i dont understand is the polisy between this 2 countries.
I have also after i have arriwed home contacted several freight companyes in Calexico (USA) for import. If i have understand them right its not so easy to only transport it over from Mexico - USA.
One thing i know. its different speed betweens europe and usa to handle things.
As carlos say. It will be much easyer for him when hi can deliver the parts in usa in the future. hi must have a standard papers for customs in the future.
One thing i know. Carlos have done a very nice work and deserve all credit for that! And i hope everything goes well with the freight to Norway.

Next move here in Norway is shooting movie for european TV in end of January of the project.
I am still waiting for answears from the import/export company in Calexico, but i hope it will be very soon.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody here  :santa

hopefully you can have a kit by the time they start filming.

Got to give you credit, that was pretty funny, but not to Stethy. Unless that body has already left, or unless it is going air freight, what makes anybody think it will get there and get through Customs in a month?

I wasnt trying to be funny and I wasnt referring to carlos's kit being delivered in a months time thats for sure.

Finally the crate with all parts is one the way to Norway.
It have been a long way to make the freight.
Lorna at California Shipping (Los Angeles) have done a really good work who have assist me all the way. Rafael at RL Jones (Calexico) make the custom clearens with bond so the crate could go straight to Norway without any questions. I will recommand these company`s and are you from europe theese i will recommand for you.
It not so easy only to take the parts over the border to USA. We used over 1 month to arrange all clearence and the mexican customofficer was at carlos and inspect the crate and bonded it. When RL Jones picked up the crate at Carlos adress and cross the border, get the driver red light and inspect the truck with x-ray. also inspect the inside of the crate as well.
Also custom and carlos make lot of pick i got on mail, so i was really sure everything was correct.
I think the next order and freight will be much easyer for carlos and im happy for him, because hi have done a good job so far. Carlos give me pick of every part inside/outside with serialnumber and also lot of pictures when he packed the crate ;)
For now i have to wait until the crate arriwe Norway and that will be in the end of april.
Conclutions. So far have the story been long and have not been easy to find the right companies to handle the freight.
BUT, Now it will be much easyer for next builder to order the parts from carlos and handle the freight if they use the freight company`s i recommand  ::wave
PS: I will keep your guys updated when the crate have arrived Norway and i have unpacked the parts here at home.
Note: are allmost finnish with the hinges for the doors and they are as originale and pic will be at my facebook  ;)

Thank you for reading

Thank you Tusabes :)
That it took so long time from nowember is because 2 freightcompany`s was blinded track for me and california shipping.
If i took one of them i could have lost the whole shipment, so its really importent to be sure of the identity of the freight company`s, who say make the impo/expo (mexico - USA) ::tongue
I feel i have been a pioner in the freight world :)

Hi everyone.

Finally have the aventador body with interior from carlos arriwed home to me. It have been a long journey for me but finally vent fine.
I will Thanks specially carlos who have done a really nice job, All parts is perfect and they fit very vell together. Also the finnish are so good so they allmost only need filler and paint. When you look at his movies at youtube, " THEY ARE BETTER IN REALITY" ::salute
When we make the deal he send me pic of every part inside and outside. Over 60 parts are with the kit so he use several weeks to do the job. And all with the brain on right place understand THIS IS A HARD WORK with presission.

I will also thank Rafael Piza at RL Jones who make the bonded freight and make all the custom papers. That is really importent who everything goes correctly and etleast smooth thru the custom Mexico/USA.

A special Thanks to Lorna at California Shipping in stanton LA USA who have followed and coordinate the freight all the way and export it over to NORWAY. If she have been here when i picked it up at the custom in Norway, i would give here a BIG hug. So she is the "key" if you are from europe and want Carlos kit.
Holger Fisher "Grete" who make all the customclearence here in Norway have done really good job and updated me through custom and make all the gouvermentpapers.
I will also thanks all the people who have supperted me all the way.
Finally now i can continue the build and finnished the car ::bounce
A short movie of the freight Follow.

After lot of research my conclusion is.

Nobody in the glas industry have make replica glasses as original glasses.
some people in the world say they have maked the glasses or they know someone who have,
but so far i have not find any serious makers.

My final solution is.
Buy originale windshield and sidewindows 7 piece with proof Lamborghini stamps  ::LAMBO2 (Who is really importent here in Norway to get the car prooved)
It looks better when you have the car on shows and the car is on the top that way.
I`m agree about you can build the car much better as a originale and it look better as a custom car with lot of another customstuff. BUT! the glasses have to be right and smooth.

I will be the first guy here to apploud and say congratulation to the guy who have find the way for the glasses   ::salute
That will be a huge step for another aventador builders  ::beers.

When i start writing, so i will  also inform about the lightning.
All lights have to have (E) tag if you will have it prooved here i europe.

Just now after 2 years prepairing to the statement i have a short break from the building. (renovate my house) :CSS.
I will start to put the car together in September and hopefully be ready to testdrive on racetrack summer 2017

Thank you for reading

Hi Stethy
I live in Sweden, so we are almost neighbors :)
I'll put up a construction thread when I came running properly.
But here's the short version so far.
2013 I started to buy body panels from a guy in Ukraine, or rather the Crimea. Things went well at first, but then came the revolution and the Russian thing. so then was stopped, no parts can get out of the Crimea. After that, I tried to do business with an American, I got a lousy roof from him so I thanked for me. Now I have bought parts of a really good guy in Poland :) So right now, I cheated on a couple of thousand dollars and I have a body from three different manufacturers! = Nothing suits :) But I hope to start my build in September.
I hope we can meet sometime when we have our cars ready.
