Title: OEM Door hinges
Post by: RStaggs on December 17, 2016, 05:35:14 PM
I just picked up a OEM door hinge. My plan is to CNC a exact replica set. Has anyone successfully use OEM hinges on a NAERC chassis and body? Wondering If they will work, or if I need to modify anything? Any insight would be appreciated!

I used oem hinges on the naerc chassis,  there wasn't  anything  major you had to do.  I'll  have a look and see soon.

Do you have your own CNC for this? I have a CNC as well as a set of hinge blueprints graciously provided by Aotopro, and it was still way more economical to just buy a set from Fieroking. Good service, good looking product, good price, and they fit a NAERC perfectly.

I'm using OEM hinges on my NAERC with a Murcielago body, the hinge position is different on the murcielago than the Diablo so you will need a bigger hinge plate if you're gong with a murcielago body.  Otherwise they work perfect.  Have you gotten a price on replicating the hinges?

Thanks guys for your input. My buddy has a CNC. I'm sending my OEM hinge to him, and he's making two sets. I concur, it's a lot of work to make a set, but I'm not doing the work! Just wanted to make sure hinges will work before having them made.
