Title: Steering wheel removal?
Post by: Ccemn1 on September 22, 2017, 02:06:35 PM
I'm sorry I'm being such a PITA here, being a newbe to this.
I recently bought a Fiero Based IFG Diablo, that had little, if any care, or maintenance.
I'm trying to sort everything out and get it nice again.
My question is about removing the steering wheel. I've found no less than 4 electric & air horns underneath this thing, but don't see any way they can be blown, that's mt first reason for wanting to remove the wheel, to see if there's a horn switch under there somewhere.
The other is, When going straight down the highway, the wheel is about 12, to 15 degrees cocked to the right.
Alignment seems to be fine, as it tracks well, with no tendency to hunt, or display other bad habits. It's a lot easier to remove the wheel and rotate it a few splines, than it is to mess with the suspension & alignment, and I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how to get this cushioned, center "horn button off?(http://)

You don't need to take the steering wheel off to see if there is a switch, just the center cover. If you do need to take it off, remover the center cover, undo the nut and pull the wheel off

Yes, I realize that/ My question was, HOW to remove the center portion?
I've pryed and twisted to pretty good, with no results. I was wondering if I need a special tool, or something?

Possibly the center cover is fastened with 4 screws on the underside.
