I'm trying to get my Diablo in paint and Interior in time to take it this year! Who else may be showing up? I thought it would be cool to be there last year as a 'before' and this year as an 'after'.
I have the spark control now on the Speeduino on my LT1. If I can get my fuel control on there before I go, I will. If not, it'll still be too rich and on my crappy knob I turn for rich/lean. But hey, it still runs on one injector so it has that going for it! ::beers
Thanks,
Coop

I am not sure about mine this year, work has me in OKC so I haven't been able to touch mine. but I may have it moving under its own power by then :)
-
Way to go guys hopefully you will make it out there with your cars.
-
I'll be there if all goes well (no car). Someone needs to be there that knows the ins and outs of building a replica......well besides RT, Jimbo, AB, Bob, Coop, Steve, and Todd etc. ::bounce ::wave :LL: ::thumbup ::LAMBO ::headbang :notworthy MAY 18-20, 2018

Sounds like I'm a go from my body/interior guy. So I'll be buying my tickets here shortly. :-)
Who else thinks they'll make it out? I suspect Todd won't be making it this year? :-(
Thanks,
Coop

At this time, I expect to bring my build. I thought last year went well. We had a great turnout with a record Lambo display. The "new" location had what I thought was more spectator traffic. Let's hope they keep us there.
If anybody has a complete or "in-process" build, please consider attending and bring your car.
RT
-
I have to agree with you RT, the location was much nicer. I am trying to talk Rod into bringing something to show too
-
Yah its not in the budget for me. All though I know the guys from Deboss Garage are going, I should see if they have an open spot on the trailer!

Come on, Todd. You can write it off on your business advertising account. Bring the wife and you can kill two birds with one stone (figurative speaking of course). We all know that you are #1 when it comes to video photog from last years coverage.

See if they don't have a milk crate you could sit on in the back. :-) hee hee, at the border, tell them you're the security for the car. ::headbang

Thanks guys. I will reach out to them you never know....Blake was talking about going again. We may make it down without the car.
Todd

Would be awesome! Be good seeing you guys again! Could drive Blake's monster down? :-) hee hee

Carlisle use to be the spot to go every year when the kids where smaller I would always take the to Hershey world while there. Haven't been since Jim dinner had his yellow 6.0 there. We plan to make it this year. Maybe bring the GTR, :-\Vaydor or roadster
-
Never been there....sorry for the stupid question, based on your comments I'am assuming will a section for lamborghini replicas?
That's the only way I'll go
-
Yes. There will be an area for what they call 'kit cars'. We had a row near the grandstand last year. Was a nice central location that got plenty of traffic through it as people went to other areas.
Thanks,
Coop
-
Just bought my tickets, so I'm in! ::salute Looking forward to seeing you all there! ::bounce It'll be fun! ::beers

If anybody can find the "Map" for the Carlisle Show fairgrounds and the placement of our cars, please post it. I have sent emails to the "show" but haven't received any responses back. I did find a map but it was NOT the showfield location of where to exhibit our cars.
Daily admittance price is $10 each to walk around and look.
IF you purchase an Event Pass, the price is $15 each to walk around and look. (you save $5 per day)
Just in case someone wants to have their car entered into the "Drive thru judging", the cost of an early purchased form is $58.50. (funny it isn't. We build our car$ from $cratch and then have to pay extra for it to be $een on the fairground$ and THEN pay again to have it judged) ::scratch ::duh :'(

i might go but dont think my car will be ready

I won't be Able to make it this year. I just had some major surgery on my shoulder and can't drive for awhile. Hope you all have a great time.
-
Hey rshaef...
We will miss you. I hope you feel better soon. We want you to be back driving that beautiful Lambo soon.
RT
-
Coop: That map is NOT the car display area map. It's a "vendor's map". I would think that Carlisle will not be showing the car location map until they get the number of entry forms from the guys that are bringing their cars for the "Show Field". Wait another week or so.

For those who are going and have ordered their "gate and go", have you received the tickets yet?
RT

I haven't checked the mail today of course. But I haven't seen mine yet.
Thanks,
Coop

Just got my "Gate and Go" today, 30 April 2018.
Here is a map of the grounds. We are between the Midway and Building Y.
-
i might go but not with car
-
If mine doesn't come out of paint on time... may not be having mine either. >:(
Thanks,
Coop

Here is the "Showfield Map". Our area is on the same street a little further east. Hard to read from my picture but sharper on Carlisle's website below. Wouldn't you know that their picture is 90 degrees CC. >:( :'(

Got some primer on today. That's a step in the right direction. Still a lot to do.
Thanks,
Coop

WOW Coop...
Not going to recognize you!
Better put your name on that car.
RT

Great job on getting primer on Coop
-
It will be coming down to the wire though. If I'm able to bring the car or not.
Thanks,
Coop
-
I got lots of wire. What gauge do you need?

I got a final answer from the body guy. Won't be in paint in time for the show. So I'll still come visit everyone in the H2, just no Diablo. :'( I was so ready to see the Monterey Blue!
Thanks,
Coop

Hey, Coop. Go to Youtube and check out "Boss painter". He has videos on how to paint your car in your own garage in THREE DAYS. ::bounce ::headbang

Ha ha. Awesome. I wish. But there's too much to do. That's why he told me it wouldn't go to paint. That bit of primer I was shown is all that there is. Everything you don't see isn't done. So darn. I hate it. Because it has been over there since last October. Still pissed about that. They knew I wanted to take it to the show. Bastards.

Coop...
I wasted over six months and a lot of money trying to get primer on my build and never did. I finally took it back home and worked it myself.
You are not alone.
RT

I can't believe it is that time again, but I am not going to make it this year. In fact I was hoping after last years show I was going to find time to get back to work on my car. It has been sitting too long. Well enjoy the show, maybe next year I will attend.

msaby (Mike)...
Do I have to come up there and stand over you until you get that car finished?
I thought last year's show would inspire you to get busy. What more do we have to do, we had seven cars there!
I am as anxious as anyone to see you with your finished build.
GET BACK TO WORK! :)

It is with regret that my wife and I will not be attending the show this year. I just hate looking at the weather forecast for Carlisle every year. How I wish that they would schedule it in the middle of June or so. It costs me over 1K to bring my car to a show and last year was very hard on my wife and I. So as we get older, we have to make hard decisions. Maybe another year will be sunny and maybe my car will show up in color and shiny. Sorry, guys. :'( :'( :'(

Understand. I was just having this conversation with some guys. Weather is going to suck. I'm going to check if I can get my money back on the room. It may be what decides me going as well.
Thanks,
Coop
-
The weather is a worry of mine too...... I have no glass in and its not running..... But as of 10 minutes my plan is to try and make it....... SO what is the count?
-
I pre-bought my "Gate and Go" pass so I expect to go BUT the weather forecast (right now) doesn't look good. I'm going to keep an eye on it and see what it looks like for Saturday, the only day I was going to be there.
I hate to lose the money spent for car, truck, and trailer, but if it is going to be a rainout, I would also lose the turnpike tolls and gas and time to make the trip.
Over the last many years I only canceled my trip once because of rain.
Carlisle is a funny place when it comes to weather. It can be hot or cold, windy or still, dry or wet. You never know. That is for the same date in May.
RT
-
I was able to get my money back on my room, so I'm out. I was thinking, even if it doesn't rain on the day of, it may be muddy as hell from all the rain before then. Sorry guys. I was so looking forward to going, but once I knew I wasn't going to be in paint, I was already suspecting it wouldn't happen for me. But now that this rain is coming to stay for a while, I'm not going to make it. Plus work just dumped more crap on me, so I'm going to stay home and work through that mess instead of going out, so it is actually now helping for me not to go. I hate that. Would much rather enjoy the day with everyone, but it doesn't seem to be in the stars for me this year.
If this thing gets back to me in a reasonable amount of time, maybe next year I'll drive it there on fumes! instead of hauling it there on a trailer. Hey, I gotta up the ante if I'm skipping a year, right? ;-)
Thanks,
Coop
-
Crap, crap, crap, crap..... Due to another situation beyond my control I too will not be ably to attend this year. Try again next year....... I HOPE.
-
The weather report I keep seeing is 100% rain on Saturday. Since Saturday was the only day I was going to be there, it does not look good for me to be there. I don't want to spend good money after bad by making a trip for nothing. Even if it wasn't 100% rain, the grounds there are probably going to be mud.
I am not happy.
I bet there won't be too many people there for any car category.

What if we arranged for another date, I am in the middle of the country now so I would suggest something Midwest and something around Sep-Oct

Youtube videos coming in. Doesn't look like they have mowed the grass for days. Standing water etc.
