Title: Unknown Diablo maker..
Post by: Krausewich on November 28, 2018, 04:33:25 PM
Can anyone identify what maker this Diablo body is from? Trying to gauge if it uses OE glass and if it may be worth picking up... I have only seen one other body similar to it (yellow body) which has the side vent fins in odd placement, but no ID on the maker.

Thank you,
  Mike

Kind of looks like D&R Gen 1 with the strip of body between the windshield and the door.  But I didn't look at other details...

I did ask Darrell and he said that it did not look like one of theirs.

Looks like an early IFG body. the lights look like they took the pop up headlights. My IFG roadster was molded and not splashed from a real car. The distance from the wheel wells measured along the rocker panels was off by 1" to 2". IFG used AGP class. See https://lambobuilder.com/roadster/index.htm for the roadster build.

Thank you for the insight and link Dale! I have been a fan since your early days of building. I have a long way to go, but I have set my interests on learning which makers produced the nicest most accurate bodies, so that I can keep my eye out for the right deal. I will be fabricating my own NAERC style chassis and looking for the right body to put on it until then. If I can't find one, I'll make one!!

Thank you again,
  Mike.
