Nice!!  I did the very same to my Cadillac struts on the rear of my Lambo.  Mustang coil-overs fit nicely with a coke bottle cut for an insulator.  I welded a slug for the notch in the sleeve at the bottom and clearanced the needle bearing hat for the top.  You can see it on my Lambo Build diary on page one.
