My designer is finishing a set of ventador plans for me and I'm trying to d'éfray my costs , so I will offer them at the forum members price of $40

I'd like to get a group buy going so I will start another thread for that , but if you are interested immediately pm me

They will be ready and delivered to all buyers next week , so no worry about sending money and not receiving anything for months

This same set of plans was available on eBay for months and cost $25 and $28 depending on the seller. It was sold multiple times there. I have one customer who bought them and was not happy that they were just random cross sections made for few seconds, with no logical connection i.e. not buildable, so he is awaiting for my fully detailed and easily buildable plans to be ready in next couple of weeks. ::beers

hi would you be able to draw up some plans for a lexus lfa i really want a build of that car

I can do cross section plans for LF-A using a game 3D model from the web. With removable plugs for the doors and engine cover and hand drawn door jambs, plus curve approximation and panel gap markings additionaly created by me (as described in my previous post) it will take about 4 weeks to make and cost 400 Euros. For single-piece plug without curve approximation and additional details the time is about 1 week and cost 200 Euros.

Hi Guys, I'm Bobi1 from the Madmechanics forum. I just found this nice forum after reading post at Madmechanics with a link redirecting here.

I'm almost ready with Aventador plans for building body plug with wooden cross sections. This is NOT just some quick projection of sections on the 3d model for a few minutes, like other people trying to sell plans do. I always add lots of additional details, make channels, ribs, holes etc, and my plans are 100% usable. The amount of work is huge. The cross sections I arranged at variable distance in order to provide useful information, such like where the door openings and window openings start and end, to name a few. There are 7 mm deep and 7 mm wide channels to mark the location of all body panel gaps. They are all hand drawn by me as well. It's supposed that builders will cover the wooden/foam plug with up to 2 mm thick layer of hard coat and body filler, so the 7 mm wide gaps on the wooden formers will become 3 mm on the fine finished plug, and 5 mm deep. Perfect for easy release of the moulds. I also add thin lines at each edge (aka "crease line" in the cardesign field) where the degree is too small, so using these guide lines you will know there MUST be an edge in that particular location even though it may look nearly smooth.
For my cross section plans I'm using the 3d model of Lamborghini Aventador extracted by the video game "Forza Motorsport 4" which is low-poly, but is probably the most accurate 3d model of the car and I also improved the shape in some areas to make it even more accurate. Since the 3d model is low-poly Mesh, I had to manually redraw the extracted cross sections using curve approximation technique to get perfectly smooth curves that a 3d Mesh model itself can't.
I make curve approximation and setup the plans to be able for printing on large paper size such like the European standard A0, or similar (suggestions here for American standard?). The plans are in AutoCAD's native DWG file format used by all modern plotters, printers and projectors, and popular CAD software as well.

Current pre-order price is set to 100 USD / 75 EUR, and once the plans are completed* they will cost 200 USD / 150 EUR. Also, people who purchase(d) my Aventador chassis plans will receive the body plug plans for free.

*in about one-two weeks depending on how long the curve approximation will take

You can contact me at e-mail: chassis_plans_4_sale at yahoo dot com

Shown below are some examples of plans I made for IKR's Reventon plug 4 years ago, just to show you the details I draw additionally on the cross sections and how the corresponding wooden pieces "lock" together with ease thanks to the additionally designed ribs and channels.

PS: Please, note that there are couple of almost-finished Aventador body plugs made out of foam that some other guys at Madmechanics are currently making, so consider carefully if you want to start building of Aventador plug from scratch, OR just wait a while for some fiberglass kit to be offered on the market. Building plug and moulds by yourself is not recommended unless you are experienced and know you can handle this type of work.

You can download 3d models for free from several places. Do a search on google. I've sliced a project before with Rihno I believe... It was actually very easy. The prompt just asks the slice direction and thickness, software does the work for you. I will try to figure it out again today.  ::thumbup

I don't make section plans anymore sorry, it takes up way too much of my time.  and what ever plans I had I deleted them.  I only machine plugs or sell cnc machines and 3d printers.

I am interested in purchasing the plans , if you have dversions  re spaced version I  would be interested in them preferably but if the ten inch spacing is the only version , that's ok .

I didn't think it should take a week. But I definately think it should be far more accurate even if it took time - I'd suggest it to others. I made 40 slices and mark all of them correctly in a weekend, but that's not what I do, and my plan isn't for sale. I just think it needs more precision in many crucial areas whereas you are right some areas near the middle of the vehicle can be spaced 6' to 8" but in other areas should be a lot less.

Am33r,

Yes i can redo the model in to 3" sections, but it is a ton of work to do and takes more than a week to have a plan ready for building.  There is alot of manual editing to have them ready.  Price for the plans will definitely have to be higher than what I am selling them for now.  $175 for it

apsara.

I got a few emails from people looking for one, however, it needs to be comparable to the Tijuana based kit (aka IKR kit) which has less than 3" in former to former distance!

How many formers cross sections is it? and are you able to make it 3" rather than 10" inches between the center of each of former to the next former? Even if that doubles the price then you may still have many more people interested! Also, will you chop it in the Y axis as well?

I believe it has to be as good or better than this

http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=93.msg2410#msg2410

If so, I could add it to my journal

http://www.madmechanics.com/forum/consumer-opinions/15662-lamborghini-aventador.html

and refer a couple of people

This reminds me of the incredible & patient bierhanzel build I read a year ago http://www.madmechanics.com/forum/build-diaries/13642-murcie-lp640-build-11.html

Thanks
