Finalizing Engine Bay

The more I look at, the more you guys are right.  It might look good to me in that setting but in my diablo I don't think it would look all that good.  I think I'll stick to my original CF idea.  That should look a lot better when it's all complete.  Thanks for the reply's and the opinions.

Right. I doubt that they would put a flammable plastic that would be more than likely to melt in the engine bay. Although, stranger things have been done. I was just saying it looked like it. I would still stick to the CF plan Thumper, as that is going to look a lot flashier than this pick-up bedliner looking solution.

I have this company local to me called L&S Custom Coatings they do really good hydro printing that could give just about any look you would want for a very low cost. You can look at some of their samples to give you some ideas here: http://lscustomcoatings.com/portfolio/. And perhaps find someone local to you that can offer the same process for finishing out your engine bay.

It almost looks like the cheap recycled HDPE sheets. The multi-colored version of the white plastic sheets that people use for cutting boards and such. It would certainly be easy to keep clean, except that it tends to expand under heat, does not weather well, does not bond well, and last but certainly not least - is somewhat flammable.

If you are wanting a good looking engine compartment I think this looks better than 99% of the rest out there. Except, these cars are built within the 1%, so the consumer should expect better IMO.

ya i looked into it, seems they are using CF strands and powders mixed with resin to do the same thing as the pre preg cloth  but they can cast almost anything with it now,,,  they can just collect the scraps laying about shred it all then compress and heat it into a new part.
very cool, but not the greatest visual in my opinion, but thats just me... i like a classic CF finish with a good shine on it.

It is different, that's why I like it.  At first i thought Kevlar or something but I can't seem to find anything like it.  Oh well, when I get to that point and I don't find out anything, I'll use CF.  Either way, it's going to look awesome.

The Gallardo comes from the factory with a Plastic covering and the CF is after Market (at least the Gallardo that I know off including the Gallardo my Cousin owns. I do have a OEM Gallardo engine bay covering and would consider selling.... I bought it to redo them in CF and sell but I am no longer interested....

I believe the Gallardo uses CF in the engine bay, hard to tell from that picture but it almost looks like the CF was damaged from heat or coated with something.
The stabilizers look okay though.
I am wondering what is wrong with a CF engine bay dress?
