At this time are your buckets fiber-glassed to the kit or are they removable?

You have 3 parts: Bucket, Lens, Kit.  I would say bond the 2 visible Parts and the bucket should be removable.  Or, bond the lens to the bucket but allow for it to full resulting headlight to drop into place on the kit and mount.

I wouldn't bond them at all just incase you need to remove the lense for cleaning inside the head light buckets, just bond rubber strips to the buckets and then screw the lense down to seal them, it might also be a good idea to drill two small holes at the front of the buckets to let moisture out as done on OEM, see the tubes in picture.

Just wanted to know what is the best adhesive to use when bonding the headlight lenses to the car? All purpose auto weatherstripping adhesive? Or the urethane windshield bond stuff?
