I took my calipers apart to clean, paint and install new seals. Just need to go and buy some paint remover and some high-temp paint today.  I’m also going to grind off the “Corvette” off the front of the calipers.

Since daywilm (on another forum) warned me about the wheel offset on the Murcielago I finally finished checking all my measurements this past weekend.  The NAERC wheel track is different than that of the Murcielago so modifications need to be made to the front and rear suspension.

The front has to come in 5cm. (2 inches) and the rear has to come in 7cm. (2-3/4").  Daywilm said he took the rear difference from the hubs and this is what I am also planning to do.  Here is a sketch to show the differences in the hubs.  The one on the left is the modified one and the one on the right is the original NAERC size, does anybody see a problem with this?  I still don’t know how I am going to take out the extra inch on each side of the front so any suggestions are welcome.

Could you guys tell me if I have this correct?  On the NAERC chassis hardware list it calls for these 1” x 4-1/2” bolts for the front hubs.  Now this is the only place I can see that they would go but I am not sure and don’t even know if this is how they are supposed to be installed.  Here are some pictures so you can understand better.

Front side of hub:

Rear side of hub:

Finally found someone with a water jet to make these pieces that I needed for my suspension.  Now I can get back at it next week!

Thought I would share a little tip that I received from jdinner:

Quote from: jdinner
Attack the ball joint bore slowly with a 80grit flap wheel on a die grinder. Test often for the fit and it will save you some machine shop fees.
Use loktite when doing the final assembly.

To say the least this worked out excellent and it saved me time and money from having to go to the machine shop again to get this work done, thanks!

I still have to clean and paint the caliper, I just wanted to make sure everything went together well; here are the results:

My rear suspension is almost done, I still have to make and weld the shock mount brackets onto the arms and the frame.  I also need to finish my cam bolts but I am having a hard time finding someone to make the adjustment cam ODC-5550 here in Tijuana.  I will try and find someone in San Diego this week.

Oh wow dude your a freaking genius ::headbang Never thought about heating parts in the oven to make the metal contract! Did you use oven mitts and all?! HAHA ::tongue

haha!
I had to use my girlfriends and they have flowers and stuff on them :-[  The heat actually makes the metal expand just enough to get the hub onto the spindle ::thumbup
