Mar glass or body filler

(1/1)

drumseven:
Thanx guy's that's what i needed to here, one other thing when you've got your area roughed up do you wipe the area down with acetone be for applying your filler or just blow it off ,then apply?

Robert:
Mar Glass is a great product. Before applying mar glass, be sure to rough the surface up with 36-80 grit, and blow off. Apply a small amount, and work it into the 36-80 grit scratches, then immediately apply the larger amount. You should avoid putting mar glass over gel coat. The gel coat should be sanded off in the area of repair. Fiberglass over fiberglass will give you the best strength.

autopro:
Use the Mar-Glass if you have to fill quite a bit.  Bondo is only good if it's thin, I wouldn't go over 1/8" with bondo.

Hey guys I have a question for all you body work specialist, I realize this question may be kind of gray, but when you're filling mold lines and heavier areas like for instance above the radiator. The flat area on the Diablo roadster,do you bed coat with marglass  frist then use body filler to finish, or do you just body filler most everything, seems most guy's have been telling me just filler, and to get most if not all in frist fill.just wanted to get some advice from guys who know these cars. Thanx, drum.
