The transponder isn't working. The key is on the steering column and I've cut regular keys with no transponder and they start and operate the car perfectly on my guess is it's a column from a Grand Prix and trying to find out if a Fiero base wheel work on that?

Steering wheels?

I'm working on a Ron Dolling Diablo Roadster replica. Beautiful Car! The donor car was a 1985 Fiero GT, but somewhere along, someone put a supercharged 3.8, from an '07 Pontiac Gran Prix in it.
They must have had to swap steering columns, to get the transponder to work with the electronics on the 3.8, but I'm wondering what steering shaft the thing has, as I'd like to put a replica wheel on it.
Looking at the existing wheel, it doesn't look like it's from a Fiero, and I was just wondering if anyone out there might have some experience, or knowledge on this?
Thanks in advance for your time.
