From Wayne:
The monocoque I would like to have $10,000 as that's what I have invested before any of the work I have done with it. Front frame with very very minimal damage for $3500, I have 2 rear frames that are both damaged but combined there's enough to make a good frame, I have $3500 invested in each of them so $7000 into both of them. Hood $1500, rear engine cover with all glass and it has a plastic covering on it that is peeling and I paid $4000, seats have red diamond stitching and I paid $6000 for the pair in excellent condition. Complete dash including HVAC, wiring, inner structure but missing one speaker cover and I paid $7000, molded carpet for passenger and driver side I paid $1000, rear right side upper and lower a arms with hub carrier and pushrod arm for $1000, passenger door hinge $650, driver door hinge  $800. I have 10 brackets for mounting front fenders I paid $1000, drivers side fender I paid $1200, interior trim panels that go around the roof windshield and back glass for $3000, engine x brace $1000, door glass both sides $500, 2 pieces brake light that goes in rear spoiler for $200, one headlight (needs a ballast) for $500, one rear tail light for $500,front and rear trim that goes with the grills (no grills though) for $400 , rear spoiler mechanism to lift rear spoiler I paid $1200, 2 radio trim pieces for $200, both hood hinges for $300, both engine cover hinges for $300, trim pieces that go around engine (missing one panel) for $300, windshield trim panel that goes under windshield wipers for $100, passenger panel that goes between quarter and rocker door for $$700, steering column for $800, passenger side door for $3000, passenger rocker for $1000, damaged but fixable passenger
fender for $300, bay wing molds both sides $100, both quarters panel molds inside and outside for$500, passenger fender mold $250, both door molds inside and outside $650, rear spoiler molds $$300, and roof mold that needs some repair but fixable for $1000.

Hello everyone my plans have changed and I have to sell all of my Aventador parts. I will be selling for much less than I paid to move them. Please let me know if you are looking for any parts as I have many. Thanks

I’m making progress on the monocoque. What has been done on it is strictly only to pull a molds and then will be removed and new carbon fiber parts will be installed. The passenger side of the monocoque was halfway gone including the complete roof and firewall when I started so I feel like I’m making good progress.

Thanks for your reply. I am going to use a C8 Corvette drive train on my replica. I am not trying to license the monocoque I’m working on, instead I’m going to make an aluminum frame. Going to use the monocoque to make molds to incorporate with the aluminum frame. I’m aware of the hurdles in order to license and register the car afterwards. I already have numerous parts that I’ve been collecting for around 4 years now and have made numerous parts    Stay tuned for progress this year.

I would estimate that you will spend more money in parts/trans/engine/wheels/suspension/etc than the price of a used Aventador after 15 years of pulling your hair out.

HOWEVER, Kindig took a 3D image picture of the rear of a car, added a cad file of a rear spoiler, and 3D printed the spoiler in 3 pieces which were designed to interlock with each other.  The end result was a perfectly made part that was used to make a mold off of.  Any 3D image can be mirrored to make the matching part for the opposite side of the vehicle.

Depending on which state you live in, there are numerous hurdles that you will have to jump through to get your car licensed and registered and may not be feesible at all.  $0.02

I would like to hear about these foam pieces and what not. I am interested in building a concept car inspired by the Lambo Aventador. Really be sweet to have dimensions so I could draw it up on inventor or solid works. I have found a company that builds carbon fiber parts etc. with drawings. Bu I need to make the drawings and my labor might be cheaper. I need to custom design a mold for the monocoque body and top.  I plan to make it an EV.  What's the word on the street?

Just met Charlie Strickland yesterday and had a chance to look at a chassis he is selling and man it was a nice chassis. Wish I wasn’t in so deep on my current project. Charlie is a stand up guy that is going to be helping me on my current build. If there’s interest I may post some pictures. Thanks

Thanks Neils88. Next I will be trying to get a damaged monocoque that I found that needs a roof and will be installing this roof on and installing aluminum or steel to reinforce it.
