Here's a pic underneath the wing showing the framework and caravan motor I used for actuating the wing.  I had to remove some of the inner section of the body to get the wing to go all the way down into the body.

Then I created a basic mold of the wing side so that I could remove the mold, remove the foam, then create the actual side using the mold I created.

then I used some modelling foam and started construction on the shape of my bat wing sides.  I used spray adhesive to laminate a few layers together and then let it dry and shaped them afterward.

Here's a few more pics of my bat wing progress.  This is how I contructed my metal framework underneath the wing.  I started laying out pieces on the outside of the wing to get the contour correct, then tacked them together and fit it underneath the wing.  I used 2 part epoxy to bond the framework to the underside of the wing.

I'm cutting mine up like that anyway to replace with lp640 glass, probably going to try margard lexan though. It's only the two middle sections.

Have you talked to Lambojay?  He had a post on MM  about his rear glass,  I took his post  and posting  the price  as he  would sell the glass ...  might check with him....

Oh yeah true, I'm hoping I can find a bmw v12 that I can afford but I thought of the sc 3800 too. I just don't want a v8 sound!

Agreed! most people around town wouldn't notice the difference anyway, but tinted glass would look great!

butler- it's a long story on the engine cover, it was too wide first of all, then it was bowed really bad.  I ended up cutting the center sections out because I've got some cool carbon fiber panels at work that I'm going to use.  I had to narrow it about an inch to get it to fit.  I'll be posting my build pics of that pretty soon

What is up with this, did you have to cut the engine hatch down?

Oh I would have though the length of the hatch would be the same as the original murcie, guess not :\ But I guess the curvature would be different then too.

Actually, I already talked to John and his parts are spectacular, but we already did a measurement comparison, and his parts wont work because they're OEM parts and wont work on our G28's.  The length is about 2" different and the width is about 1.5" different, nevermind the curvature.  I'm going to try to glue some foam to the underside and try carving the shape I need and then glass it.  I've never done that before, so we'll see.
