This is great motivation for my next Vacation , i have not had much shop / shed time this year ...great to see you make it to this stage , specially with the donor you choose ,i know nothing about the MR2 ,so this is motivating ,seeing another donor being used

Thanks IKR.   I'm really surprised at that though.  I would have thought you'd have had some involvement with the MR2 doner.

OK....Got to work and primed the front clip.  I'm really happy with the results and most of all, I'm so glad to see one color again.  Brings it into perspective again.  Talk about motivation.   Oh...and p.s.......    The hood isn't latched down, so the gaps aren't final in these pics.

It will look a thousand times better once it's all one color, even if it's just primer, believe me.  It's good that you took your time to find all of those hollow edges you don't want for stuff to star chipping after you have painted it.  Good job brother  :)

Headed into the booth tonight for epoxy primer and then filler primer on the front clip.  Sealing it all in and taking a look at what I've done so far.   For anyone that doesn't know how much work this actually takes,  This front clip took me and another very talented body man about 70 man hours.   And its just about 90 percent corrected.  I'm sure there will be a little more filling and blocking to get the last 10 percent out of this.  But.......This is a big step forward!  I'm really excited about what I'll get to see.  ::bounce

Finished up the chassis work and now I have the body back on for the final time.  All's fitted and bolted down.  I pray I never have to remove it again.   Anyways, with that done, I kept on working the front clip.  Lots of hollow edges in the sharp corners of the lower spoiler.  Ground them out and fiber filled and then body filled over that to smooth it out.  This took a lot of time to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Thanks guys....Again.   But I'm behind on my progress updates.  Been working the body these past few days.  Started on the front clip.

Took the time to fix that dropped, rounded nose the G28s have.  Ground the surface with 80 grit.  Then used fiber fill filler first for the heavy fix.  Then multiple coats of filler to float it out just right.   This took so many attempts to get it looking straight and right.   I'm glad that's over.  It looks so much better now.   I left the sharp edges during the blocking to give the best reference for straight.   I will scuff these sharp edges down before filler primer.

Heres a before and after of the front bumper and that dropped edge.

I made a couple of videos when I took out my car.   Had to try it out.   Just went ride down the road and to a closed business area down the street.  I wanted to finally see the car in different surroundings.

This was short vid driving up.
Driving my build

This was a walk around of the car.  A little jumpy, shot it on my iPhone,  but you get the idea.

On both sides the pillar on the doors didn't lay down correctly.  I cut relief cuts at the base, screwed them to the body to force the correct shape and fiber glassed them for their new correct shape.  Just another little thing that takes time but had to be done.

My seats came in too.  I got them from Cipher auto.  Very nice black leather with black stitching.   Carbon fiber vinyl on the back and accents on the seat.  I think they look great for the Roadster.
