LS1 AIR and EGR
« Reply #1 on: March 16, 2013, 09:53:05 PM »
I have a 2001 LS1

There is no AIR pump or EGR on it. Looks like some things were removed.

Questions:

I know it is a 2001 LS1, with an LS6 intake (from the factory), but it has a Painless wiring harness and a 212 PCM, which means it is a 97 or 98????

I have read the 2001 does not have EGR. Is this the case?

If I have the PCM redone to eliminate the AIR and EGR, how do I run the serpentine belt? Do I need some sort of aftermarket tensioners to keep it coordinated correctly around the other pulleys (there is no air conditioner or power steering pump either).

Thoughts?
