Everybody who pre-ordered Aventador body plug plans from me, please, write me a PM or e-mail (listed at the original post), and include the amount you sent to me plus the fee it cost you for the bank transaction. In a few days I will consider whether I will send full refund to all or I will continue my work on the project.

Two customers already asked for a full refund as they are not satisfied with the too long period it takes me to complete the 3d NURBS model for the Aventador before I'm able to create cross-section drawings from it. There is no demand in the body plug plans because few people already offer good fibreglass kits on the market. Just one customer left who fully ordered my plans, and few others with partially paid small sum, so there are chances that I may consider cancelling the project, refund the money and focus entirelly on finishing the chassis drawings that I have almost ready. The amount of work I do on this project and time spent on it is not worth the small income I received thus far. There was huge interest initially when I started, but few real customers. I will post an update soon when I do my final decision.

Instead of Aventador, I may be offering my own custom design in the form of complete body kit whose styling can be still recognized as a Lamborghini, but will not be an exact replica. If I ever do this kit, for sure it will fit my Aventador chassis with ease. But this is yet to be decided in next days.

 Thanks

UPDATE

Current pre-order price for the Aventador body plug plans is 150 USD / 110 EUR. From 22 September they will cost 200 USD / 150 EUR.
People who already purchased or pre-order my Aventador chassis plans before 22 September will receive the body plug plans for free.

The 3d Mesh game model from "Forza motorsport 4" which I heavily modified in the recent months is no longer used for extracting the cross-sections. It was too much pain to work with it to make it accurate. Instead, I'm designing a completelly new 3d model using NURBS, in order to achieve best possible accuracy/surface quality of the body and cross-section drawings for building the plug. This lead to about two-week delay in delivery of the plans for the sake of accuracy.

(Zebra analysis comparison of the game 3d Mesh model, the NURBS model, and the Mesh model extracted from the NURBS one. Even after lots of improvements, the game model is still far from perfect. On the other hand, my Mesh model extracted from the NURBS model has the same accurate reflections and surface evenness like the latter)

When I finish the exterior 3d NURBS model of Aventador, it will be available for purchase at two prices depending of the geometry type. Both ways, this will include my Aventador body plug plans for free, saved in a separate AutoCAD files that will allow to import them individually over the car's 3d model.

 a) 400 USD / 300 EUR (or 200 USD / 150 EUR for loyal customers): STL / 3DS / OBJ / MAX file, 3d Mesh model extracted from the NURBS model. In short, it will have the same high-quality shape and proportions as the NURBS model, but will be made out of high-density polygonal mesh consisting triangles and rectangles. It could be used for: extraction of spline cross sections based on thousands of straight segments (imagine and arc made of lots of straight segments); or CNC-milling. Not suitable for easy editing of the geometry since it's not NURBS.

 b) 1000 USD / 750 EUR (or 600 USD / 450 EUR for loyal customers): 3DM / IGES / STEP file, 3d NURBS model made out of clean surfaces with optimised topology and minimum control points, allowing for: easy editing or adding extra NURBS geometry; extraction of perfectly smooth NURBS cross sections; or CNC-milling. In addition to this, when viewed in a 3d program, the NURBS model's geometry could be made totally invisible leaving only the border lines visible, for easier navigation in case of editing or working with other 3d models in the scene, such like chassis or interior.

Important update for all of my customers who pre-ordered the cross-section plans.  :) As the creation of the plans require wast amount of additional manual editing of the extracted cross-ections to be recreated from straight lines to smooth curves through interpolation, I decided to not use the 3d Mesh model of the game for this purpose. Instead, I will create a high quality 3d NURBS model of Aventador and directly extract perfectly smooth cross-sections from it. The bad news - there will be about 10 days of delay in the delivery of my plans; The good news - the drawings will be of higher quality and more precise as the NURBS model will guarantee smooth surfaces of the body anywhere. 3d Mesh models are pretty weak at this department. I already started with the creation of NURBS model and it takes slightly more time than working with the cross-sections of existing Mesh model. In a few days the cross-sections for the front end will be available for my customers, and I will send next sets of plans every few days. :) The NURBS model will also allow me to make you HD videos with close-ups of the important details that will help you to better understand the proper shape of the design during the building of the body plug.

Difference between 3d Mesh and NURBS model are shown below:

On the first 3 images, blue&white test stripes are applied to the NURBS model at the right side, and to the Mesh model at the left side. The smooth stipes clearly show the advantage of the NURBS model.

http://imageshack.us/a/img716/5179/3w7h.png

Here, the NURBS model is coloured in white, while the Mesh model is red.

On the next images I applied black&white test stripes to the whole Mesh model to show how it looks now, after the many improvements I made over the original game model. After a week or so I will post similar pictures of the NURBS model from similar angles, to show the differences.

And here is almost ready NURBS model of the hood.

If I remember correcty, the central tunnel of Fiero was something like 200 mm wide. On my Aventador chassis I leaved about 160 mm wide free room inside the 200 mm central tunnel, with 19.05 mm or 3/4" (US spec), or 20 mm (EU spec) wide tubes as reinforcement at both sides.

I need as much space as I can get in the transmission tunnel. It would be constructed of carbon fiber and core.   Maybe just building a new floor structure that works with the steel chassis will be a better route.
Sorry to post in the middle of the Aventador thread. Figured I'd give it a little bump  ::tongue

Would it be possible to draw plans for a Murcielago monocoque to fit a G28 body? If so, what would the cost be? It would need to be sectioned so i could build a plug...  ::sun
Sure, I can do that project after I finish my both Aventador projects for the body plug and chassis plans in the following weeks. I suppose that you are asking about an aluminum or steel monocoque made out of sheets plus few tubes in front and rear? Or something else? Depending on what you need I can give you a proper price quote. But keep in mind that doing this 3d monocoque chassis design won't be as cheap as my Aventador chassis plans as the latter is a project whose development cost is shared between several people.
About what satinta mentioned, of course there is no problem to fit a custom chassis inside any body kit as long as the dimensions of both are taken into consideration during the design process. :)

Maybe I didn't express that right.

Why would you want to?

LOL
Of course it's possible. I'm asking if it's possible for Bobi to draw them for me. So you can't use a chassis works frame because the body was designed for a fiero?

Holy off topic Batman!!

Not really. The point of the G24 and G28 was to have a Murci looking body that fit on to the Fiero chassis. What your asking is the opposite. You might as well just get an original Murci chassis and body panels to build the real car.
