You're going to have to cut the welds connecting the hinge to the door frame. Then relocate the hinge higher up in the fender and further away from the door. By doing this, you create the lift that's needed.

Door rubbing top of fender

My door is rubbing the top of my fender >:(. What is the trick to get more height out of the pivot ::study? I thought a longer door hinge would help but didn't. Any ideas? I only need 1/2 inch or so  ::scratch
