Next was making some mounting blocks to match the hinges and glassing in
some 1/4" steel plate into the lower side of the bat wing. Then tapping holes for mounting the pivot arm
and hinges.

For connecting the actuator I made a bracket for the lower side out of a pieces of
tube steel and bent some aluminum brackets for the top to attach to the scoop.

The hinges and pivot arm are cast from aluminum.
For the hinges I made a jig to hold the two halves together, then drilled through both hinge sides
for the pin. Then I used small washers to take up any side to side slop after cleaning the cast pieces up with a file.
I tacked nuts with washers on either end of the pin to lock the hinge together.

I was worried about wearing out the hole on the pivot arm being that it was aluminum.
So I drilled the hole bigger and installed a bronze pre-preg bushing.

Another item that I was able to check off the list was hinging and actuation of the Batwing scoops.
I used a 2" Stroke 12v actuator sourced on Ebay. Thanks Autopro for the recommendation.  ::thumbup
A good friend of mine helped me out with some super nice copies of the OEM batwing hinges and pivot arm.

Ok, one more
here is a picture of a test fit with the rear grill bucks and OEM sized tail light bucks. The upper wing is sitting a little low on the outsides where it meets the bumper sides but it will be adjusted.
It's been a long project working on this bumper, but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel now ::thumbup

Pretty much every piece needed to be sectioned and narrowed.
Weirdly some of the proportions were very close to OEM, but it seemed like all of the horizontal pieces were too wide. You can see in some of the previous pictures that different wing sections are cut in half.

Another modification that I made was to add the recessed area in the center wing to make clearance for the exhaust tip like the OEM bumper.

Here are a few pictures of how it assembles.
Things look a little rough in the pictures, but with some more sanding
and body work should turn out nice. Just trying to get everything to fit on the car. then it can be smoothed out.

One of the many modifications that I made to the Inspire Composites
rear bumper was making the upper wing one piece rather that three separate pieces. The separate pieces become a nightmare to assemble and get structurally sound. So I decides to join all the pieces together on the car and make them fit into the center uprights in a tongue and groove fashion. This was much more complicated to do than it sounds.
