Title: Can legal action be taken.
Post by: ShockDaMonkey on May 27, 2023, 10:09:12 PM
So I'm really considering building a replica from scratch.
Can I actually get sued from Audi Lamborghini from building a replica.
I know Ferrari will probably take you to court and all kinds of stuff.
But I'm not so sure. Audi and lamborghini.
Does anyone really have a real answer?

Maybe if you're mass producing replicas but for a hobbyists building cars for themselves they don't care. Definitely don't go around saying it's the real thing though. Call it what it is, a custom car that resembles a lambo.

The law is very clear on this. You can build a Lambo, or a Ferrari, or anything else, and you can call it anything you want, and you can badge it any way you want. As long as it is for your personnel use, you are fine. If you sell it, then you have violated the Lanham Act and committed a Federal Crime. I am absolutely certain of this, but before I embarked on a $100,000 journey, I would get my legal information from anywhere except an Internet Forum.
