Crunch Time, guys. 10 more weeks!!! Do we still have 7 solid cars that will be there?? WORK ::zzzzz, WORK ::zzzzz, WORK! :CSS ::headbang ::bounce ::salute ::thumbup I'm still IN.
Jim
On a sad note: Carlisle Import and Kitcar Nationals has been renamed CARLISLE IMPORT & PERFORMANCE NATIONALS. The dates are still the same: May 20-22, 2016. I would have to guess that lack of participation by the replica groups has caused this. We need to push our hobby to show that we are still alive.
-
I am still in
-
Time is flying
-
I'm trying, guys.
Lots of work to do.
I just want to get this thing DONE!
I will be there one way or another.

::LAMBO Posey has not been able to get much done this year. But I made the comment at last years SHOW.... No matter where I was in my build I would be there, so count 1 Countach kit from OHIO...

88.5, Come on down. Your presence will be welcomed for sure. What my car is will be what I will bring, not done yet but 4 wheels and a body is what I will bring. (Yoda language)

Just because they took kitcar out of the show name doesn't mean builder shouldn't come out
Need to have a strong showing
-
88 bring your car, I have been dying to see it since you first started posting pics
I can tell you that mine wont be finished either, but I am bringing mine this year rain or shine, I even will bring a tent just in case!!!
-
Have a conflict that weekend. Going to see what we can do.
-
42 more days until the Carlisle Pa. show. Push, push, push!!! Where's my spray paint? Where's my wax? Where's my motel reservation confirmation slip? Gotta put on the truck license plate tabs too. Hope that we can have more guys come to the show even if they can't bring their cars. Still pushing for 7 Lambos to be there.
Jim
p.s. Anybody seen my tollroad transponder?

Carlisle: 26 MORE DAYS!!!! YIPPY!!!! Anyone seen my bondo activator? ::scratch ::scratch :CSS ::bounce

Here is a link to the web site for Carlisle:
http://www.carlisleevents.com/carlisle-events/carlisle-import-and-performance-nationals/default.aspx (http://www.carlisleevents.com/carlisle-events/carlisle-import-and-performance-nationals/default.aspx)
They include "kit cars".

Carlisle Car Show is coming up way too fast. The show lasts from Friday thru Sunday. All types of "Kit" cars are to be seen Friday and Saturday. Sunday is NOT a good day and Friday is good but not like SATURDAY!
DO WE STILL HAVE 8 CARS COMING?? I'm doing my best to be there on time come cloudy or sun or the other type. Got to do a little bondoing and reassembling and then it's load up and head east.
Here is the Lambo Group viewing area just in case you haven't been there before. Come one, come all if possible.
Carlisle has changed the layout map but we should be in the same area. Thanks for all the help.
Jim
The colored map is found on Carlisle's website for better viewing. We will be located in the "GM" area.

-
Are we still going to meet by the pavillion on "lambo hill"?
-
Yes. The building is now called the "Race Paddock". ?????? I thought that all the buildings were designated by a letter. Yup, up on the ole hill. Why would they remove "kit car" from the program and then set up a "GM, Ford, Chrysler area?????
Jim
-
Just passed this place... Too bad I'm not a week later for the show :sosad :'(
-
Now you know how to get there
So Sat around noon then????
LOL
-
USMC: Poor planning on your part. Come back this week!!!!
AB: You better get there at 7:00 AM on Friday at the latest Gate #3. If not then 7:00 AM on Saturday at Gate#3.
Due to the "Performance" addition to the program, it looks like our area will be taken up with the "GM" performance cars and we will be pushed westward a row or two (according to the "new" layout map)
Onward and eastward with the Silverado and trailer.
-
I just looked at the new layout for the show car placement. Jim is right, we will be moved a little Westward. We will still have the grass we had before but only the front half. behind us is supposed to be GM. Somehow I don't see the field filling up like Carlisle would like to see it. Still, we can't fill up beyond where we were but at least they didn't move us to the other side of the grounds. We will be OK. Hey, maybe we will gain some "converts" to our passion! You know if you are a "car guy" you are a "car guy". The race fans could get hooked on our obsession. LOL
I will be there Saturday. Unfortunately I will not have my car there. The GOOD news is, MY CAR IS IN PAINT!
I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I am in year THIRTEEN of this project and am so glad it is coming to an end. It WILL be done this year.
If anyone is thinking about building one of these, be serious about what is ahead of you. It is a very demanding project.
Even after the work is done, I STILL have to license and title it AND insure it before I can drive it. I will be glad to have the car but I will also be glad to have my life back. So much to do, so little time to do it.
I am looking forward to see everyone at Carlisle.
LET'S PARTY!

The weather doesn't look good for this Saturday at Carlisle. 90% chance of rain!
Here is a link to the weather channel...
https://weather.com/weather/weekend/l/USPA0234:1:US
Click on the Saturday bar and it details the day.
If this is true, I don't think I will make the trip.
What do you guys think you will do?
RT
-
I'm not falling for that "bad weather" gag, RT. You can't stop me from coming. She's wrapped like a Christmas present on my trailer at present and WILL head east tomorrow. SP-45 in the glove box.
Jim
-
It was suppsed to rain last year too, I am bagging mine up and bringing it anyway
-
Hey guys Please take and share plenty of pictures ok? Open a photo bucket page and post there if not here on LC, I really wish I could attend and take my car but just not possible at this time :-[, have fun! ::wave
-
i will be going i got a room at the holiday in for the weekend my car not ready but getting close next weekend getting it wired up and if all goes well it will be running put in ls 4
-
RT,
If it is only a 90% chance of rain, that is very good weather for Carlisle.
-
So how many people are coming with cars and who will be there Friday and Saturday? I'm thinking of coming on Friday.
-
so of the eight builds that where to be there, :'( :'( there seems to only be one coming
-
I am bringing mine....
-
So we have one, it that Friday or Saturday?
-
I just got free from a prior commitment. Daughters dance competition, if I could find an enclosed trailer and something to haul it with I may be able to swing it.
-
I am in Carlisle at present and it is nice. Weather is supposed to be partly cloudy and partly sunny tomorrow. Saturday is still iffy but we'll take what is given to us. It's always good to put a face with a name and do a little "Lambo bench building".
Jim
-
I'm only an hour or so away from Carlisle, But I am stuck at work all weekend :'( >:( Gonna miss it again this year.
-
Sorry guys, can't drive the red diablo up there 4 hours in the rain. we're supposed to get heavy rain here in Virginia. Hope it goes well.
Bob
-
Well the crap meter keeps hitting me. Had to have EMERGENCY eye surgery late last week, still having a hard time seeing. This could cause a problem towing a car trailer 5 plus hours. So as of right NOW ... No Countach from me this year. Did I say how pissed I was.... I have only missed 3 shows in the past 20 plus years. If I can find a driver I might try to make it Saturday.... If NOT good luck to everyone. If I locate a DRIVER I MIGHT BE THERE..... ::LAMBO
-
I was there today, not many cars to look at. 2 Diablos and one Murci for sale. Not the best build on that one.
-
I am getting on the road in the AM
-
A good day in Carlisle today. Talked to over 30 people who had so many different questions. One lady asked what the exhaust temps were. Looks like we will have a little dew fall tomorrow but will wait and see. I forgot to tape down my hood and lost it on my way to the fairgrounds. Rats!!!!!!! Jimbo drove his immaculate Diablo up again on Friday to join my wife and I. A few pics that I had time to take.
Jim
-
Looks like a lot of fun at Carlisle. I need to get off my butt, and work on my car.
-
Well I made it..... but the rain is causing problems. Hope to see the Lamborghini guys. If not....next year.
-
Anybody at the Carlisle show Saturday....give me a ring. 740-610-6709
-
I was there Sat. morning but felt like I was in a zoo. The yellow vested man at the gate told me that I could technically enter even though I had my admission sticker on my windshield. ::scratch To fit in, I really needed a Honda Civic with a "fart can" installed. They were there everywhere. The "Parking area" was almost unaccessable for my truck and trailer. People seemed indifferent as to allowing a truck and trailer to pass. I drove past the "kitcar area" around and back out the exit. So long, Carlisle. Call me when you come up with a "better" car show idea. Oh, I almost forgot about the "tuner exhaust sound exhibition area" competition. :'(
Jim

i was there about 2 hours ago no kit cars i see one with fl plates its raining hard now
-
Wow seems like rain threatens this event almost every year, maybe they should change the date :( Thanks guys for sharing pics.

I didnt even pull it off the trailer at Carlisle, it seems like eveyone came on Fri...

Cool when was the one in Ontario?
-
it's every June in Georgetown, read it here well organized by group of cars and yes KitCars have their own section. when I was there with bunch of real Lambo wanna be ,they put us in exotics not kit cars , they thought they were real and we did not have to pay admision LOL. ( we put 10 each anyway) that was 8 years ago,

The town of Carlisle is in the business of car shows, they have an event there every other weekend for the whole summer. There is no incentive to swap their worst show with another just to give it the better date in June.
-
Sorry that I missed you, AB :'( I pulled through the area around 11:30 am but didn't see you there. There were so many riceburners there and the people didn't mind holding me up by having confabs in the middle of the roads. >:( Another Carlisle heart burn down.
Jim

And I was REALLY looking forward to seeing your car. Give me a call later I might have a solution for your missing frunk

Thanks Pedro

Rshaef: See you next year, Bob.
AB: Who is standing next to you beside your car? ::scratch ::scratch
Guys: Plan on the 2-day (Fri-Sat) for next year. Maybe we can squeeze out one good day??
Sorry I didn't weather out too good on Saturday and missed meeting more of the forum guys. :'(

88 my friend, it was a good show? I have a Rule of Thumb about car shows. If you take the number of cars at the show that I am interested in seeing, then multiply that number by ten, that final number must be higher than the number of dollars that it took for parking and admission. Do you also think that Danica Patrick is a good racecar driver?
-
88: For me, getting to the "Show" and back home safely, rates pretty much up the scale. Bringing a partially built replica to a show, talking to dozens of tire kickers explaining the how did I make this and why I am crazy to make this my hobby.... Priceless!! ::bounce ::tongue :LL: ::thumbup ::sun :CSS :drool ::headbang ::LAMBO ::LAMBO ::LAMBO

Looks like I missed a fun time again this year. One of these days, moving up to the Carlisle area, hopefully with a finished car. Still plugging away though... :CSS
