I had need to wrap my harness in the engine bay. What is the best method to protect from heat and abrasion. Electrical tape and that corrugated plastic tubing?
Thanks!

Most people use electrical tape and the split tubing. Works reasonably well. However, there is something that works better than the electrical tape since it doesn't leave the sticky residue of you ever need to remove it.... unfortunately I can't remember the name of it right now. I'll see if I can look it up and I'll get back to you (maybe someone else remembers the name)

Dont listen to Neil, he doesn't know what he is talking about...HAHA I am only Joking!! Seriously, listen to him as he offered a good suggestion. I agree on using the non sticky version of the tape however, spend the extra money and get good wire loom. The cheap stuff will look good at first but deteriorate quickly over time.

thought about this stuff

but probably go with the corrugated stuff that you find on OEM cars
thank you guys!

SimpleMan - I have a roll of Tesa tape that is used by Mercedes-Benz, BMW and other european makes. It is the wide size, 80mm (approximately 3 in.). I used it on my build but have almost a whole roll left. I'll give it to you for $10 to cover postage if you want it. There is enough to do your entire engine bay and have plenty left over. Email me if you're interested at dayone2@cox.net.

Simple Man, I have used Braided Self Wrap PET Sleeving for 20+ years on the entire harness. It is good to 257 degrees and I never had trouble with it in an engine bay. One hundred foot rolls are available from DelCity.net in various widths, #851,#852,#854,#855,#856. If you are not already familiar with DelCity.net, they are a great resource for all things electrical.
