The only thing better, would be if I could find a Diablo Roadster for sale.
I've been in love with these cars ever since I saw the first one live, in the 90's.
Adored the Countach before that, back in the 70's.
Now I finally have one, but I'm so old & arthritic, it's very difficult to get in and out of.

You could try modifying yours by making it into a "T" top.
You would still have to weld in steel between the top center of your windshield and the rear of the cab.  There probably isn't any there now but that would strengthen the body structure.  Anything you do will require thought and work.
The advantage of the "T" tops is, if you plan them right, they could fit in the limited front truck (maybe).  And, you will only have to deal with latches and sealing, no hinges or folding.  It might be pretty cool.
Good luck.

Actually, I have a completed car I recently bought, that I believe I was told was an IFG? I was wondering and hoping to find someone who might have attempted this and find out what problems/successes they had in doing it.
I'm 67 years old and pretty arthritic. Getting in and out of the coupe is getting more & more difficult.
If there were enough structural integrity, I'd like to just cut a portion of the roof out, from the rear window, to just behind the windscreen.
But, the closer I examine it, the less likely it seems possible. Glass is very heavy and there's a hell of a length and cantilever on that windscreen.
I guess I'm just going back to looking for a Roadster for sale?

If you are talking about modifying a real Lambo, that would be a major project.
But, if you re talking about making YOUR replica a roadster while using a coupe body, just pretend it is supposed to not have a roof when you build your support steel.  If you make a sturdy windshield frame and devise roadster style attachments for the roof go for it.  Just make sure you have a solid under frame built to prevent twisting and bending.
Were you thinking a Targa roof or a complete convertible folding top?
The revised style of your build would be in your hands and what you end up with would be unique.  If you do it right, it could be cool.  You will always get those who criticize it isn't "real Lamborghini!"  It is YOUR car, so make it the way you want.

Has anyone ever attempted to fabricate a Roadster out of a standard Diablo coupe?
I was playing around with the idea of making mine a convertible only, since it's garage kept and only driven on sunny days, but I'm concerned about the structural integrity. Curious about how the windscreen is supported and whether removing the roof would compromise anything?
