For as long as I have known about Ron's Toy Store, the incredible cars of Ron Dolling, and his reputation, I have coveted his cars.
If possible, I would like to purchase a car from him, but was wondering if anyone had any Info/experience with getting a car from BC Canada, to the United States? What kinds of problems, taxes, expenses, are involved.
Not hauling and travel expenses, but just the hoops you need to jump through for the governments.
Thanks in advance, and here's some of Ron's eye candy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH2sy5d1LhM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH2sy5d1LhM)

did you talk to RON? I'm sure he sends 1 or 2 into the USA

Yes, I DID make that request, but I've been bugging him a lot lately so I'm being patient.

you should check with your state about importing kit cars.

If it has an international VIN you should be good to go. Your state will probably require an inspection before they will issue a title. Is this on a donor or is it built from scratch ie, tube frame?

I spoke to Ron today and got it all straightened out. It's titled as Fiero and very easy switch from one country to the other.

NOT SO EASY IF IT NEEDS TO BE TITLED IN MICHIGAN. I think that sneaking under the radar is frowned upon. To title your replica as a "Fiero", it has to "look" like a Fiero. IF you really need to have it retitled as a "remanufactured auto", you will need to have the original bills of sale for the engine, transmission, and have the police give it an inspection as to safety, lights, wipers, etc. If I had only known!!! What a bunch of jerks.
