Looks great so far
I was wondering why the top louver is as high as the roof, there won't be a 3rd brake light? I'm sure not everything is perfect being hand made but it's turning out pretty good. Congratulations on getting this far!

Not sure why it'd cost any more than other builds other than making the plug and molds?  :o

I think he was refering to things like electrical, sheet metal, grills, tail and headlights, etc.
Alot of things are done when you build on a donor, and when you build with a kit. Building your own body means having to create alot of parts for it that you could otherwise buy, or salvage from something else.
Title: Re: Murcie LP 640
Post by: bierhanzel on May 22, 2012, 12:07:42 AM
my building is not about money! But most of the time. So far I have spent so far from about 4500 to 5000 USD. Everything you see in the pictures (wheels, Shocks, tube, fiberglass, Molds, plug, brakes, suspension,engine,tranny,bmw750 donor).

Build a Kit Car or Replica for money on expensive loses sense!

Chassis looks great
is your body a lot taller than oem? The rear window looks really high off of the firewall and front bumper support has a beam over it as well  ::scratch
was curious how that happened, maybe the chassis just sits lower?
Title: Re: Murcie LP 640
Post by: bierhanzel on October 03, 2012, 03:45:52 AM
I think it should be fine height. Dimensions fits with OEM. I hope :-) I now have a newly reconditioned wheels (polished and painted). And now mounted rear brake discs and calipers. Its final. I want to fourteen days chassis back on the wheels. And I will deploy the engine!

You are moving right along now.  It will be good to see how your suspension sits with the wheels and the engine in the chassis.

Title: Re: Murcie LP 640

SchulzeA: Sway bar is my own custom from special spring steel. Steering rack is from Skoda Octavia RHD!! If you know why RHD? :-)

Tallon: Right! Those were old photo. I had to cut a remake of reinforcements in the floor. The seat sits now almost a few millimeters above the floor sheet metal! But it is for me very little space .... I'm 185 cm ... :-)

Approximate position now:

Wow!  This is a really good build and it's awesome to see you have a drivable chassis now.  Those open headers make it sound like a tractor and I can't wait to hear it after you have some good mufflers on there and the engine is tuned.

Now for the body.. any pictures or video's on your progress there?

Excellent work and a testament to what a guy can build in his shop from scratch!   ::thumbup

Bierhanzel, it appears as though any pictures that you had posted in your threads were hosted on another server that has either deleted them or that server is no longer in service.  I thought I would bring this to your attention in case you wanted to post any of these pictures again but post them to this server this time.  Posting your pictures on the LamboClone server will ensure that they always stay with the Forum (no retention limits) and are available for everyone to see.

Thanks,

Chris

I don't know of a good auto trans without the need of a computer. The old Audi's (pre-elec. solenoids) might work.
