Hi guys just wanted to give a helpful tip for any replica owners that still have a Fiero motor and want to make it look nicer. I have been rebuilding this Diablo and it still has the Fiero motor so i came up with a cool idea. Buy a sheet of 26ga sheetmetal and a brake from harbor freight tools and make 4 panels making bends at 45deg angles. then rivet them together, bondo the edges and paint black. Then i bought a cadillac motor cover that fits perfectly with 4 small brakets i made to bolt it down, i primered it and will paint it silver tomorow and put black lamborghini logos on it. Next i bought a can of black spray paint and "blacked -out" the Fiero motor. last i put a hi-perf air intake that was $20 at o'reillys on it and plumbed in the map sensor and vaccuum lines. All in all was pretty easy and cheap to make. it covers the engine compartment well and hides the Fiero intake and looks aggressive. Then i bought red LED lights for $10 from walmart and put inside the front air-scoops and it looks cool at night. Hope this helps some. ::thumbup

Looking bad a$$ there Randy, It sucks that here in So Cal. the P ::police-P ::police's don't like colored Led lighting on the exterior of cars, they think it imitates an emergency vehicle, and give a fat ticket.

Yes and thanks, that cover came off a mid 90's caddy and fits over the motor nicely. the intake you see can be bought at autozone for around $30bucks. Another cool motor cover idea for V8 motors is to actually take off the entire top of a V12 bmw 850 motor and it fits beautifully over a V8 and you can dress it up a bit and even connect the throttle body linkage to the V8 throttle body lnkage so they both move at the same time giving the appearance the motor is an actual V12. It looks so real even close up looking at it looks like a real V12 motor. ::thumbup

FBS, May I ask how you attached the Caddy cover? Does it bolt up to the stock Fiero intake, or did you have to Fab something?

Does anyone know how Fatboyslim attached the Caddy cover to the Fiero V-6?
Looks like he used the original mounting holes on the Caddy cover, but I'm not sure all of them match up with the molts on the intake.
Anyone with any Info on this, I'd greatly appreciate.

I guess no one wants to tell me how they attached the 90's vintage, Caddy FI cover to the Fiero motor??

Bolt it on using 4 brackets attached to the plenum bolts on your engine.

I've got a '97 Caddy cover and the bolt holes don't even come close to lining up. I guess I have to Fab a bracket.

You have to make it yourself!
There is no "KIT" in kit car.
This is also why only 3% ever finish building.
You really have to have a lot of skills or be willing to learn them FAST, to finish your Lambo.

This is the fifth "Kit" I've built. I started with an MG TD replica over 35 years ago, then had a "Marlena", rumble seat, Mercedes replica, two Porsche Speedster replicas, one I still have for sale, and now this Diablo.
I was just hoping for a little technical assistance, since I have zero info on this "kit". Others on this site have been very helpful, with extremely detailed information.

why would you want a cadillac cover on your build anyway? Seems kinda cheesy to me
