Hi Murci-Me,

Love the speedometer cluster face.

Just a stupid question. The Fiero is marked to say 200 km/hr (or there and there about)

Your Murcie clocks are marked 360km/hr. If your car could realistically do 300km/hr, how would this work on the Fiero clocks? I am asking because I am considering getting Audi A4 speedometer cluster because I cannot get the RS4 speedometer cluster anywhere and i know the RS4 wiring loom will plug into that. My problem is how would the 260km/hr clocks handle say 300km/hr? Or is the whole thing just a calibration thing?

I have no experience with speedometer clusters at all so please excuse these (most probably) stupid questions.

Regards
jackal

My speedometers are marked to 220MPH(360kmh), and the other guys guage face is marked to 360MPH. My guage face is accurately marked to match OEM specs, the other face is not. Murcielago's do not have 360mph speedometers in them, since the car's top speed is around 220mph.
Yes, the Fiero guage can be callibrated to read the correct speed, but thats not something I get into. The A4 speedo WILL plug into the RS4 wiring harness as you noted, and can easily be callibrated to accurately read 0-360km/h. Any speedometer shop will calibrate your A4 speedo correctly, the shops by me charge around $65 to do it.

That's great! Thank you Murcie-Me.

I will get an A4 speedo and get it done.

Cheers

HELP,  I removed my dash and removed all the gauges. now my car will not start. Does anyone know if you need the gauges plugged in to operate the fuel pump?  ::sad :'(

wow that means my fuel pump is bad. I have to voltage to the fuse for the fuel pump. I think this is a big job to remove the tank and the fuel pump in side the tank.

Thanks Mr. Murci for the reply.
Are you still using your original fuel tank and pump?

plugged my dash back in no start.
* Hey Guys when I turn my key to on or start I hear a click of a relay but I don't hear a fuel pump. Is this the same your cars v6 2.8L?
** I check the 10a fuse its good but no voltage on either side of the fuse. I would think I should have 12v on one side at least.
I really don't want to take the tank down I'm so close to completing the ride.

So if anyone can check their car to see if the fuse should have voltage when key is on and let me know, this would be cool.
Also with the key in the on position do you hear the fuel pump or just a relay click once.
Thanks guys.  ::LAMBO2

OMG I just completed changing my fuel pump. What a beach.
I had to drop the fuel tank and pull like hell to get the hoses off. I feel like I just went 5 rounds with mike Tyson. lol

Finally my car starts.

Fun fun fun

A quick qn, would it be possible to measure the distance between the centres of the two main dials? That way I can scale my dash face pic I have. Sorry for not introducing myself yet, will put up a build diary soon! I'm building an LP640 extreme kit on an mr2.

Is there any chance you could provide or send details on 'how' you went from the fiero gauge cluster in your one picture (my fiero, 6 cylinder ,speedo goes to 85 by the way, so mine is a third type)
to the lambo gauge display with just the couple parts for controlling the needles?

How do you control this without the whole circuit board, etc?  Where did you bury the controlling circuit board?

Thank you!

Peter

Instruments overlay.

I have made enquiries into obtaining instrument panel overlays - LP640 style , they would made in MPH ( not KMH as shown ) and do not have the lambo logo. If this is of interest to anyone , please let me know as a quantity will affect the price.

These are of course OEM size, the dimensions I do have .

Anyone have any idea what murcie-me used for the black spacer between the clear gauge cover and the actual gauge plate/template?  Are there any kind of hard plastics that you could heat and bend to that shape?
