I suppose that may work. Don't get too excited about grills just yet I won't be getting to them till sometime this summer probably. I thought about using abs mesh too. I will most likely experiment with different ways. ::thumbup Stay tuned.

Could you use plastic hex mesh from EBay, cut it to size and use a heat gun slowly melt it into shape?

Just got another shipment front inspire composites today. He made me custom grill bucks for the sv front bumper. They dont look like much now. But the plan is to trim and fit them. Then make two molds from it. One mold will be used to lay up the grill frames. And the other mold along with the original buck will be used to press .032 aluminum hexagonal mesh, which will then be bonded to the fiberglass grill surround. The same will be done with the rear grills. He made the rear grill bucks for me as well.

Thanks, I want to try and get everything nice and sturdy. Nothing worse than seeing a car with a body kit that bounces all over the place while going over bumps.  Also I am hoping that adding the metal backing plates will help to keep the fiberglass from spider cracking over time.  I am only using 22 gauge sheet metal so it doesn't add too much weight.

That front bumper looks MUCH better now. I always thought it was too wide in the center. Great work!
If I don't have time to do it right, when will I have time to do it over?

Oh more pictures would be great!  I think you and I are about the same, you might have more body fitting to do but you already have a running and driving donor.  I still have to get my chassis to that point.  Thanks bud!

autopro,

I have some more pics and info on the wing/wing strut mounting.  I will post it on here this week when I get a chance. Thanks for the compliments, I wish I was as far along as you are. Your car is looking awesome!

I can see that front bumper is taking shape nicely now. I just went back and read the way you are mounting your wing and uprights; you came up with such a simple and effective design that I am going to use it for my build  ::beers
