If the windshield in set correctly on the passenger side, the windshield sticks out or overhangs the drivers "A" pillar and the Drivers door will not close  ::)

The prior owner got the doors to close but neglected to make sure they would work with the windshield?  ::tongue

So the drivers "A" pillar width needed to be increased.

Grind off a $hit ton of Rage filler to get to fiber glass.
Fiberglass, Fiberglass, sand etc

Then the Door needed to be cut back, Cut Check, Cut Check, Cut Check,  Sand, Sand Check Sand Check.

Yes the windshield is cracked now ::toothy

the curvature of the A pillar on passenger side wrong, driver side okay

Next on the simple redo is the windshield.

First problem is the A pillars were built up so the windshield when in place was flush with the doors and roof.

the passengers A pillar had a nice chunk of rage and a hump that was removed

the recess along the roof and doors was sanded and a 5/8" space was created for the windshield to rest in

Well as frustrating as it has been with Arruat, At least they communicate and seems to want to resolve things  :)

I thought it was the outside brake pad that was causing the problem of the wheel not to turn that  easily and lock up when the Rim and tire were mounted.

took it all apart and...

the distance from the top caliper mounting hole to the rotor is off by a little over 1/16 of an inch or so, when compared to the bottom mounting hole.

the other issue in the mounting holes on the spindle, to me seem, to be to far in, or could stand to be a little further out, as the rotor is gouging the caliper as it turns around.

Talked in depth with Richard and will be sending the caliper back so they can test the new spindles with rotors and caliper, prior to shipping this time.   888o   When you send $hit in stages you cant QC the product.  ::tongue

Finally the car is out of the shop!!!  ::beers

One of the front spindles is wrong.  When mounted the brake pad is pressed up to the outside side of the rotor, and the wheel wont even turn.   ::) Thinking its a weld that warped the spindle during the mfg process 888o

Using 5k lb atv wench to bring the car back into the shop.

Wednesday will be fiber glass grinding and cutting day, which is always a good time!!  ::toothy

Another long weekend...and not working on the car that much. Poured concrete blah blah blah  ::toothy glad to be done with that!!!!

The car is finally on four wheels and just a few more issues with Arruat Motorsports lack of QC ::)

But I can see the light at the end of the Arruat tunnel..... and it has been loooong!  :LL:

Brutal weekend, glad it is over!!!  Borrowed an excavator from one friend and a dump trailer from another.

Will take today and let my body recover..... zzz:)

back on the REDO build Wednesday!!   :)

Still have to pour concrete, spread out 20 yards of soil and seed for grass ....  :o

I scabbed together a prototype with some scrap metal and nuts and bolts. With a few modifications it worked great!

Now I can make the final pieces ::toothy

spent a few hours working on the finished side of the front trunk.

Dyna glass, rage gold... wash rinse repeat  :LL:

Well the error in cutting the lid is apparent,  888o my first choice would have been better.

My hinge mount will change and the shock mount has to be modified.... depends on using oem hinge or self made hinge

Will probably cut and fiberglass the panel again and make it OEM shape ... ::)
