No there is more then likely nothing wrong with your harness! There is just a wire that opens and closes the injectors! One of or both of the wires below! Can't remember been awhile!

I can't remember at the moment, but I had to trace the wiring back and realized it was what relays the information to open the injectors! I had fuel I had spark and could get it to run on starting fluid! After banging my head against the wall I realized it was one of those two wires!

I had a similar problem! I'm assuming you have a Dans Fiero Flyer harness! They are amazing, not labeled well though! If I remember correctly there is an orange and black fused wires that need power to them! I hope that helps!

If you can get it to start with starting fluid, sounds like your fuel pump isnt working. You might have fried your fuel pump relay/fuse/ground. Check to see if your fuel pump is coming on.

Find where the smoke came from. Once you let the smoke out of wires you cant get it back in. you got fried somewhere and now you gotta start over again. Pull the whole harness out and check it over.

Get some noid lights, to see if injectors are firing. Then trouble shoot from there.

blown fuses or fusable links. Coulda burned up injectors burned wires up ect ect. Did you see smoke from harness after you hooked it up wrong? Im baffled how that happened, but it is what it is. you could also ask over on pennocks. http://www.fiero.nl/ But tl be honest, most electrical issues cant be diagnosed over the interwebs.

3800sc swap
« Reply #1 on: January 29, 2015, 10:27:04 AM »
Hello guys,  i am doing a 3800sc swap in a 84 fiero.
i received a premade wiring harness from a builder.
i wasnt labeled well and i hooked the positive and negative up wrong on the battery.
After i figured it out, the car will only start if i spray
starting fluid in the throttle body. After i spray it ,it will run for awhile and want cut off.
i cant get in touch with the guy that built the harness,Anthony
