Title: G28Lp Front Bumper Sag Fix
Post by: Jets303 on June 11, 2012, 10:56:38 PM
I will be documenting the way I fixed the front bumper sag. This was made very clear to me when I rolled the car out and stood back. I took some pics and actually fixed it in one day. I think it looks much better. The only thing I dont really like is the turn signal line follows the new angled line but its a small price to pay for a drastic change in the front look.

Started by establishing the cut line. I took this piece of tape on and off like 11 times!

I needed to add mounting tabs to the front fender since the trim line cut off the old ones.

Skipped a bunch but I did add fiberglass to the right side to re-establish the line and filled everything.

Final product is level to the ground and gives it a much better stance. I did the same exact thing to the other side. I will roll it out sometime this week and take pics of the change.

Very innovative idea.   I like it.   I don't really think the line looks bad at all.  I know the Lambo doesn't have that angle, but, that design is seen on a lot of other exotics, especially Ferrari's.   So it doesn't look awkward at all in my opinion.  And, like you said, the corrected angle up front really looks so much better and by far outweighs the angle issue.

Thumbs up to this job!   ::thumbup

Why don't you fill it up and install the euro type marker lamp like this one, it will solve the angle issue that you are having:

I got mine of eBay for cheap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-04-FORD-FOCUS-Turn-Side-Signals-CLEAR-New-Pair-/220849055769?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336ba12819 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-04-FORD-FOCUS-Turn-Side-Signals-CLEAR-New-Pair-/220849055769?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336ba12819)

Would that even fit now that the angle is different compared to that body line?

Nice job  ::thumbup I like this idea.
How does it effect the hood line? Does the hood flow into the front correct?

How did you shape the mesh inserts?
Thanks!
