Last week I had the privilege of meeting up and hanging out with USMC_Butler and BatBuilder. It's always great to put names and faces together and I was pleasantly surprised to hear about the many members are staying in touch and visiting with one another outside of the Forum. This is exactly the type of community that I hoped would grow from this site. ::thumbup

That is great that you guys where able to get together! One of these days I'll have to take a road trip and check out some of these builds! Being from Iowa I'm curious as to how many people are within a reasonable driving distance? Probably not to many but like Chris said a name with a face is priceless!!! ::thumbup

The world is a smaller place than you might think. :D
My suggestion is that if you are going to travel somewhere (business, personal etc) just post something about the State you are traveling to and that you'd like to meet with anyone in that State or any of the States you might be traveling through.
The Forum has a pretty good membership now (around 600 members) so chances are that there is a member or members near you or where you might be traveling. I urge everyone to be careful and make sure you know the person well enough on the Forum first before inviting them to your house.

Couldn't agree more! Make sure it is not someone who signed up yesterday lol, and preferably someone you've either personally spoken with or a trustworthy source has! Remember Stranger Danger!!! :LL:

I also had the pleasure of meeting Dustin and Dave this weekend. Both were kind enough to travel several hours out of their way just to stop by my house. Take the opportunity if you have a chance to meet these fellas. ::thumbup

Was great to meet up with Chris and Alan! Honestly, like stated before there really isn't much distance between everyone. I drove 1,200 miles in one day and met with everyone on the way home. I was gone a total of 3 days and was worth every penny to meet the guys. Next stop will be back to Cali in the fall to meet up with Dave (batbuilder), murci-me, then hopefully up north to Canada to visit Frank (Digibeam). I will update when I make that trip to meet with more Cali members ::headbang

I'm actually still in Ohio. Got a chance to visit Chris a super sharp and super busy individual. Thank you so much for introducing me to Jason and Jeff . Jason is such a wealth of information and looking over his real countach build was a total joy for me. Jeff seems like the guy that can do just about anything in that shop. I had to meet Alan just for his technical expertise we share that retentive nature that's either a blessing or a curse. Hope my suggestions on your shop foundation was helpful. Was out here for a week so Chris suggestion of the Auburn museum was a surprise and a deeper understanding of my favorite classic car 1935 Auburn Boattail Speedster! God bless you Chris! Hehe. My visit was like walking around the Lambo factory talking to all the experts. Well it's back to Sacramento thanks to my new old friends I appreciate the hospitality ....Dave aka Batbuilder
