Im considering pulling out the V12 out of my BMW 850i and putting in a LS3 that I have. Just putting this out there to see if there is any interest causing me to go ahead with the project.
The V12 has 109k orginal miles, runs perfect, this would include all ECU's, wiring harness, ect. The transmission would also be for sale, it has less than 2000 miles on it. It was a brand new ZF transmission not rebuilt also. I havnt come up with a price yet but open to offers.

Is it an auto trans car? If it were a man trans vehicle might consider .
-
its an auto-trans, if it were a stick I wouldnt even consider doing the swap....

I would keep the original engine, if you ever decided to sell you would lose a TON of money. I would suggest buying a 840 and making the swap.
I know that you have probably heard that before

Even if I tried to sell it with the orginal motor I would loose a ton of money. The market for these cars is very weak, I doubt I could get $8000 - $9000 for it right now. In the end its not really about the money anyway, I love the styling of the car. I hate the performance, gas mileage, parts cost and lack of parts for the car.
If it was a stick car or a more desirable packaged 850i it wouldnt make sense to me, but on this car it makes perfect sense to me...

I can definitly understand the appeal, and the LS is a sick motor

I have driven an v12 Mercedes a while back. The power band was sweet and smooth and very fast. I would not replace that v12 with and LS3. I have driven many LS cars. Add a turbo or something to the BMW. Just my thoughts.

Unless you build your own turbo setup you will be 15k into it and still just make the same power as a nicely build NA LS

Very good point Adrian. Here is a link for summit racing for LS e-rod engines. They come with the pcm etc, to run them.

Have you thought about finding a stick?
