I absolutely LOVE how you document the problem and then the solution. What a great example of what can be accomplished with a little bit of courage and willingness to make it right. Great job!

Thank you!  hopefully it will be helpful to other builders out there

Problems  - The REdo has modified OEM replica sized batwings  The bat wings are not as wide as the G28  batwings. This leave about a two inch gap that has to be filled

The Door skins are from Carl in RI and are a bit different than the G28 doors.  this difference is  makes the top of the door stick out by about 3/8.

Plus the top of the qtr panel about mid point has a hump.  Not sure how this is, but it is.

now on to the qtr panels.

have some issues here, not sure if it is because these are roadster doors, but I did have to make quit a few adjustment to the doors to get  them to work. OR possibly operator error, or a combo of the above,   But whatever the cause have to make it work and look right

going to make a mold to make the part to either cover the existing mess or come from below.  gotta think about it. ::scratch

Used the 3m panel bond, waited 24hours took the clamps off.   Pretty happy  how it came out, of course there is a ton on body work still to do on the door.

well it very well could take all weekend to get the drivers door skin on. Making a ton of little adjustments :LL:

I had previously increased the length of the door but it is a bit warped added  CSM will grind back side.. Had to grind the lower door sill, sand the upper door flange  and so on

while back I spent some time modifying an OEM replica inner front trunk lid to fit the G28.  I abandoned that and started over as it just wasn't working

made a metal frame, cut bent and welded to match the curve of the fiberglass lid ...treated for rust prevention.  Added Latch  to frame

Used panel bond to attached to fiberglass lid

Made foam inner trunk lid glued in placed, sanded to shape

Fiberglassed over that

Rage gold then Rage Ultra to smooth everything out- love the rage ultra!!!

Painted flat black

here is a picture of the REDO trunk when I went to look at it to buy it....... ::toothy

what was I thinking?   :LL: 8)

Got the fuel lid on, added an end piece so in can be fastened with a small recessed screw to the body.

Added studs to the driver sail panel, dura glass then CSM

Anyone know how the actuator is wired up?  I can get it to open, is the close wired into the ignition switch?

spent my day limbing trees and doing manual labor.  ::help

When I could steal away, work on the passenger sail panel.

I can really say this is a big improvement to the build.

still have some adjustments
