Kits for Canadian's as you guys have a hard time importing kits cross boarder.
Currently finishing off the plug, started it 3 weeks ago.
Still milling out the front bumper and the rear bumper.
Fiberglass parts will be available at the end of Nov.
Head lights and tail light units, Interior will be available after Dec.
As well as glass packages.

Great piece of kit
-
Looking great ! Can't wait to see the fiberglass quality
I'm sure it will be better than Cki
-
Very nice;
Where in Canada are you located?
Cheers
Don
-
Careful fellas. This guy supposedly ripped someone off and then went MIA for a long time. I'm not saying he's guilty, but I've worked with 6.0 Nut and he's a stand up guy.
-
what method are you using to seal the styro?
-
Relax schulzea, I didn't rip him off.
I shipped his bumper out before I left overseas on business for the year. When I came back found out that the shipping company stacked a cargo on top of it, crushed it. I'm sending him a new fiberglass bumper of the 720 when its ready.
-
what method are you using to seal the styro?
I don't use sealers on the foam, it just delays molding time up too 2 months.
Plug will be ready for fiberglassing next week.
-
Nice to see you have considered the glass. ::thumbup Looking forward to seeing this kit available.
-
I too like the fact that you considered the glass in your plug. I'd also like to know where you are in Canada? If you're on the West Coast, I'll pop by your Shop. At the very least contact me in Dec. when the headlight, taillight and interior kits are ready. This may be exactly what I'm looking for. Nice job on the plug so far, by the way. Are you shaving it with a saws-all, or what are you using?
-
He's using a CNC router to cut the foam.
-
Thanks Pines, for the answer on the router......it's so good to get clear and concise answers.....and quickly. Greatly appreciated! I'm still trying to come to terms with this style of plug construction, is he cutting this according to specs. from the original or cutting it free form? (ie: by eye) I'm just trying to ascertain how far from an actual Aventador body, it will be? Or will it be a virtual copy?
-
He is using a 3D computer model - maybe he is willing to tell us the source of the model as I am interested. Often people use models from video games because they are easily obtained. Alternatively, an actual car scan could be used. The model is converted to G-Code by a computer and that code is sent to the computer controlled CNC router. It is a very precise and fascinating process.
From what I can tell from the few pictures I have seen, this plug looks quite accurate. I am definitely impressed so far.
-
Now that is cool... and yes it does look quite accurate. Yes I'm extremely impressed as well. If he's near me I definitely have to go see him! Thanks Pines.
-
A saw-all lol, no. that would never come out looking anything remotely close to an aventador
-
some more view of the plug.
just started the front bumper this afternoon, still waiting for the other half to be completed.
Still figuring out either to make the side fins like the oem car or keep them enclosed like the picture.
keeping them enclosed would make it easier to make a part out of, but if someone really wants the fins they can make it pretty easily from whats there.

I have engineers on hire that do my modeling work for me, they work in the areospace and automotive sector. They either scan the car or use a cnc measuring machine, forget what its called. Some point cloud thing, i don't know I forget
-
I think you are thinking along the right track. I would probably just leave them closed. It makes it easier to pull the molds/parts, it provides strength during shipping of the part and it gives the customer options to do what they want. ::thumbup
-
Are you confirming this model came from a real car?
-
not just that, when driving down the road, the fiberglass fin would probably vibrate in the wind and scratch the paint
no not real car, from a gaint scale model.
also milling out other plugs, the f70, agera r, huyara, and mp4, mercedes gtr concept for the next couple months. the shop will be packed full of supercars
-
You are probably right about the wind/vibration on the fin.
Good grief! You are a very busy man!
Glad to see you taking on this project. Please post as many details as you can. I will be following this very closely.
-
yes very busy, have three show rooms to fill before summer, montreal location, ontario location, and one in Iran

ok?? care to elaborate on that

Front bumper all done, bonding it tomorrow and giving it a final sand before the real work begins.
right side has partial sanding done to it, left side does not, its fresh off the mill.

youre really pushing these out. how fast does your machine cut and what kind of styro are you using.
-
my machine pumps out one section every 10-20 mins.
rapids at 120%, feed rate 197%, 400-600" per min.
30-40 blocks used to create an entire plug. roughly 7 sections per block.
two weeks to machine entire body. 1 week for prep work prior to molding, 3 days of glassing, 2 full days of polishing.
4 hours to make a fiberglass kit (that's if I use the chopper) plus time all depends on my work load I have during that day.
will be upgrading my machine and facility in the new year, to machine a full plug with a 24 hour turn around time.
styro, just the cheap stuff as it ends up in the landfill after Im done with it.
-
lower diffuser and valance, left side.
finish the rest of it on monday,

changing the rear bumper slightly for more a custom look. really not feeling the open grills back there.

What's the status of this plug? Have you made the fiberglass body yet? I notice you have included the shape of the taillights in the plug, should not this area be flat, to be able to mount taillight assemblies? Can you tell me the wheelbase of a chassis that will fit this body? I know you have a lot of plugs on the go, but I'm hoping this one is a priority of yours?
-
have not made a fiberglass body yet. staring on the molds next week. will have a body ready by end of nov.
Im not incorportaing the tail lights into the body, those have been sanded down. its just a pocket for the housings to sit inside snugly and your able to bolt it down with out having to fab up a bracket to the frame.
wheelbase is the same as the real car.
if you are wanting to use a donor, any thing will work. fiero, mr2, acura integra. just search for something with a low front fire wall. Well, firewalls can be shrunk down anyways. for front engine cars, you have to use an engine cage, this stretches the wheelbase at the same time while relocating the engine to the rear. those will be available in the spring. fieros and mr2 are starting to become harder to find, well clean ones with out any frame rot.
-
Do you know where I'll be able to source the taillights, or will I have to resort to the Manufacturer's extortionist prices?
-
I will have everything for it later on as the build progresses.
-tail lights
-head lights
-molded foam seats with metal skeleton or bucket seats, which ever direction I choose to go with on this build.
-
How about a 99-04 mustang donor ? Cheap and lots of power . Any way to make it work ?
The wheelbase of a c5 corvette is almost perfect isn't it ?
-
not really, when choosing a suitable donor you have to look at the fender gap between the firewall and the front wheels. If the space there doesn't relate to the body that you are wanting to overlay onto the frame, than it will not work.
Almost perfect is not good enough.
When doing a build, wheelbase must match up or its not worth doing at all.
Plus the vette's fender line is too long, and rear quarter, well there isn't really a rear quarter there at all.
-
Hey buddy, I was wondering if you still have this foam matrix, the photos, I was wondering if you want to sell me her, I live in Brazil, but buy it from you just to do my aventador, I'm wondering times make one and get nothing, is to tell me something? about it? or if you want to sell your KIT I also buy :-\ ::LAMBO

I still have the foam, but not sure if I'll be selling it or not.
Kit's are available, just haven't had a chance to make the interior yet.
some old pictures of the plug in Dec. camera sucks, kinda blury, haven't taken any new pics yet.

you have a good job on their hands, but I just wanted to mold the aventador, because I want to make this car for my use, and not to replicate to sell it, I have a dream and only you are almost doing it, and moreover I did not ask, he of grace, by which also you would not give it paid a price, but if you do not want to sell I can do nothing ... :'( ::LAMBO2
-
Are you doing a 1:1 scale or OEM scale same size I think

The problem with reselling the foam plug, you won't like the condition its in after molds are pulled from it.
The foam gets destroyed and parts of it will be hard for you to repair.
you have two options, I can mill you out a new plug or just purchase a kit and skip that entire step.
-
its 1:1 scale

Ok. To all the members that have inquired about the bumper that was paid for and never shipped. The answer is still no. I have not received anything from Apsara but a PM (That is now several months old) stating that he would ship the item I paid for. This never happened, he never shipped only made more false promises. So you be the judge. Please read the entire thread http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=2213.0 (http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=2213.0) For more proof, also see what the he says here in his own thread.
Relax schulzea, I didn't rip him off.
I shipped his bumper out before I left overseas on business for the year. When I came back found out that the shipping company stacked a cargo on top of it, crushed it. I'm sending him a new fiberglass bumper of the 720 when its ready.
To all the great members that continue ask about my dealings with this thief, I say THANK YOU. It is refreshing to know that we are helping to keep the forum honest and not just letting people rip us off. Thanks for helping keep the spot light on dishonest people that post pictures and then steal your hard earned money. This is a great hobby and it is sad to see some people are only here to take your money, by weaving false dreams. Honest business people practice honest business habits, you be the judge on this thief. Dont send him a dime. YOU WILL REGRET IT, no matter how nice the foam looks. Warning to all the new members, if you cant pick your parts up in person don't deal with this guy. Apsara knows that I have all the proof needed to expose him if he decides to challenge any of the above comments.
-
That is very disappointing to hear 6.0nut. :(
-
That sucks! We dont need more of that
-
Sorry to hear things turned out badly for you 6.0nut. I'll back you any day of the week. You're a good guy in this whole ordeal and it's really a sad day to see another good person ripped off. Clearly Apsara can make the parts he promised (and took payment for), so hopefully he can let us know what the hold up is and make it right. You're in the spot light now, go....

veloster por acaso vc entende alguma coisa sobre replicas ou fibra de vidro? ficar pedindo ae nao vai dar em nada vc tem q estudar bastante esse undo das replicas não é fácil.
-
6.0 nut is still getting his bumper, I didn't rip him off.
you have to understand that things take time to make and there are a few delays that held the build up. nothing happens over night. The project was set aside for a few weeks, still finishing it up. Once ready the bumper will get shipped out.
It will be ready by this weekend, had a lot of delays happen before I could finish it off.
