We all know Lamborghini used some standard off-the-shelf parts on the Murcielago. This post is an attempt to document as fully as possible these parts and make it easier for us to find what we need. I really need everyone's help with this. Ideally, it would be a wiki and if someone wants to set one up, that would be great. I just figured instead of mentioning these parts in one thread here and one thread there, I would try to keep them all in one place. Other lists that may be of interest:
Off-the-Shelf Parts for the Countach (http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=2610)
Off-the-Shelf Parts for the Diablo (http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=2605)
Off-the-Shelf Parts for the Aventador (http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=1768)
Feel free to post any information you have to this thread. I will continue to update this first post as we get additional details.

Purchased maserati seatbelt adjusters for $15, same button on the slider so I figured that would be worth mentioning
could add the headlight bulbs too since people always ask about them
-
Good catch on the vents I totally forgot about them. I'll update the list with the actual parts from Prima. Although the vents from the Solstice are similar, I haven't found any that are identical. If they are the same diameter and drop into the dash, perhaps they should be mentioned anyway. Can you confirm these vents drop into the dash with no modifications? I knew we were going to get into some grey areas. Maybe we need one list for drop-in parts and one for similar parts?
Can you give some more information on those seatbelt sliders? Year, model, eBay link, etc.
Yes, I forgot about the headlight bulbs too. That should definitely be added. I'll try to find those threads and update that info. I think this is going to be a really valuable list.
-
Haven't seen them in person but murcie me said they were the exact same, maybe you're looking at different year idk
Wouldn't have mentioned if I thought they were similar, I don't care for similar parts unless it's the only way to go. Prima's will be hard to obtain again unless another group buy happens
sure this was the ebay title for them
02 Maserati M138 seat belt height adjusters 4200 GT coupe
(http://i.ebayimg.com/t/02-Maserati-M138-seat-belt-height-adjusters-4200-GT-coupe-/00/s/NzY4WDEwMjQ=/$%28KGrHqZ,!h!E9onJjYqiBPlIpv4!Pg~~60_1.JPG)
I guess you can be the judge if they look the same as the murcies
-
The Solstice vents are likely made by Prima as well but they don't look quite the same. I personally think the Murci vents are much nicer. If there are certain years that were exact, I would appreciate it if someone could give me the info.
-
A couple more pics of the Solstice vents...
-
didn't think the newer year were flat like that
guess it wouldn't be the first time mm was wrong
you're right though, I never saw anyone point that out before
glad I bought those from you instead of pontiac O_O
-
Also, look at the top piece/blade, it is a completely different shape. I had a hard time finding pics of them closed as well. :)
I think you are onto something with the Maserati seat belt adjusters.
I gotta run right now but I'll come back and update this more when I get back later today.
-
pardon me for asking ,don't they use a pre 73 Mercedes latches?? outer mount
-
g28 and oem/watson bodies use two different latches, g28 door jam isn't like oem
we usually call it W126 for g28, inner mount
-
You make a great point Eddie. That should be noted for G28 builds. I'm planning an OEM coupe build but I don't want to exclude G28s and roadsters for this list. This should help everyone.
I'll add the G28 latch/catch in there but I'd prefer more specific information if possible (years, models, etc.).

Anyone building a Watson or Extreme body and used a donor door latch other than one from a Lamborghini? Can any of the Mercedes door latches be used on a Murci / LP640 body that's splashed from an original body?
Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for sharing the picture Jay. I'm also going with Watson now and I was wondering what to do about latches. I have two different sets of Mercedes latches and one of the set's looks like what is in your picture.

Guys, there is a really good post on the third brake light here: http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=994.msg9491#msg9491 (http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=994.msg9491#msg9491)
Please advise the OEM part number that you found on another vehicle and which vehicle it is in and I'll add it to the list. For now, it looks like the MG F High Level light is the only drop in part we are aware of.
-
I continue to make updates to the first post. I found lots of new info.
I hope String chimes in on this eventually. He is the master of this sort of thing and probably know all kinds of stuff we have missed.
-
Bigpines, thanks for starting this thread. It will be a huge help to new builders and some of us that have been around for a while. ::beers
-
My pleasure SchulzeA. Glad it is valuable to others.
-
Should I add headlight projectors to this list? I'm not sure if they are considered drop in parts but they are of interest to a lot of folks. If so, I'll need to know some information on them (size, etc.). I checked this thread but wasn't sure if there was consensus: http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=783.0 (http://lamboclone.com/index.php?topic=783.0)
I understand there are multiple ways to go on this but is there some general info that would be useful to people or should I leave it out?
-
I would add the headlight info. Note that the larger light (P6) is slightly smaller than oem. People using oem copied headlight rings will have a gap between the ring opening and the bulb.
-
Good thread! I have some OEM Murci headlights and bucket if anybody wants measurements let me know
-

So the large light is a P6. What is the small light? Seems like every manufacturer uses a different standard so it is tough for me to tell what is going on.
Dustin, do you think ID measurements of the trim rings be helpful for people to find the correct projectors or is there more to it than that?
-
Here is the P6. Also note that they are on eBay listed under many names but the site link below seems to continually carry them.

And the smaller P1

Thanks. I updated the first post. I also included links to known sources for these projectors including the projectors available to forum members from No Bull's neighbor. I think this is turning out to be a pretty nice resource. I will keep it updated as long as I am aware of new info so keep the posts coming!
-
Nice! I was beginning to think there wasn't a source for the seatbelt cap
-
European Ford Focus 1998-2004 Front Side Repeater. These are on the front fenders of the Euro Murcielagos.
-
Sweet! I added these.
I heard rumors about the Ford Focus lights but at the time couldn't figure it out. It never dawned on me that they would only be on the European Focus. ::duh
Back to the projectors. I'm thinking there must be a drop-in part from an Audi or BMW or something. Has anyone explored that possibility?
-
Late 90's Maxima windshield for the g28.
-
How could I forget that one!
Updated. :)
-
front hood latch
if you are not using a OEM look alike some use a VW hood latch . they may be hard to come by and if they are , they are rusted and ugly . but also Mercedes G class has same and you can pick it up BNIB.
-
Looking for a hood latch set that would fit the 2 separate spots on the oem style inner hood, can't find much of anything. Did buy the vw part in case I end up cutting into it to fit
-
darn wheres the thanks button when you need one. Admin? ;)

Guys, these look like the *EXACT* OEM small projector headlight. Pines your correct those look exactly like them. I'll take some pictures of my Hella OEM ones to compare.
-
Yep same as OEM, only difference is the bracket for the Murci Bucket... GOOD FIND Pines!!!

Hi, thanks for your request... ::angel
I will do what I have on just headlamps , as that is the current theme. For the large projector the original fitment is [ BMW 5series E39 Hella 9DR 151 33302 ] , this has a flip down shield for dip and main beam. The small projector is indeed the Hella Micro DE , but if you are using P6 lights - do you not need a main beam lens? . For the sidelight I am using a Fiat side repeater lens on a long stepped tube to reach out of the rear to plug in a bulb holder.
For the indicator , a VW Golf mk3 front indicator - basically cut in half , the lens cut to shape to fit behind the upper plate aperture and the bulb socket holder bonded the rear of the case.
-
those fogs are use on Diablo too and BMW 750 .if you get it from aftermarket depot, they are like 65$.
-

Thanks for the confirmation and the detailed OEM pics. Updated the first post.
Do you have any of the other parts of the OEM headlight? The other projector or the other lenses? I'd like to see detailed pics of those!

Thanks eddie. I have looked at a ton of Diablo pics and it doesn't look like the Hellas (at least not the same ones) are in there. Do you have something that shows that for us? Also, although the BMW fog lights are similar and could certainly be used as replica parts, they don't look exactly the same either. They don't have the Hella logo on them as the OEM Murci lights clearly do. They also look smaller to me but it is tough to tell. They are also VERY expensive! Way more expensive than the Hella Micro DEs which we have confirmed are in fact OEM.
These can be had for $65 a pair??? Where? I have looked all over and the best price I could find on the Hella Micro DEs was just over $100 for a pair.
Thanks again.

Thanks for chiming in String. You do not disappoint!
Yes, some of the BWM 5 Series projectors look like the large one we are looking for. The flip down shield only appears to be on some of them. Is it in fact on all of them? Is it on the Murci? The Audi A6 looks to be the same projector. Is it?
I am curious about your image of the OEM fog lights there. They look slightly different. Are both of these from an OEM headlight? One has the Hella logo and one doesn't.
Thanks for the other tips. I'll check them out.
Also, please post any other off-the-shelf OEM spec parts you are aware of - even if they are just something small like wiring connectors. It would be great to make the list as complete as possible.
-
Just awesome. THANK YOU!
I was looking for the P6 lights. Are these actually the real P6 size ?
I am ordering these!
-
The Hella Micro DEs are for the small projector (some are using P1 instead). The Hella 9DR 151 333-02 from a '02 - '06 Audi A6 or BMW 5 Series is for the large projector (some are using P6 instead). Good luck!
-
Thanks for the confirmation and the detailed OEM pics. Updated the first post.
Do you have any of the other parts of the OEM headlight? The other projector or the other lenses? I'd like to see detailed pics of those!
Yes I have the big one as well. Ill take some detailed pictures tonight. That big light is really complex, he has some sort of electric aperture like a camera that some how opens and closes, its really cool how it works but super hard to duplicate.
-
Guys, if you want some cheap OEM spec ballasts, I found a killer deal for $10 each! Hella Ballast (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hella-Ballast-/161090619782?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2581bfc986&vxp=mtr) Looks like he has a bunch of them. :)
-
Good find, I just messaged him about combining shipping ::beers
-
BP, the Hella fogs are # INL 00890 that are use on Beemer E32.
lenz dia 1.3/4 with housing 2"
-
Thanks Eddie. Sounds like that may be an off-the-shelf part for the Diablo but from what I can tell, it isn't the same as the Murci. Maybe someone should start a thread similar to this one but for the Diablo?
This may sound like a dumb question but why is there only one ballast per light on these units if there are two projectors? It seems the small projector doesn't use a ballast (halogen?) and hooks directly to a relay?
Looking forward to those pics Dustin. :)
Edit: Beware, those Hella ballasts I linked to earlier may in fact be knock-offs. The connectors don't look correct on them.
Edit 2: After doing a lot of research, I think the ballasts are probably genuine but have some funky overseas KET connectors on them. I will open the ballasts to verify they are authentic. If all I have to do is put the D2S connectors on, I am fine with that. I'll let everyone know when the ones I ordered come in and I figure it out. If they are genuine, at $10 a piece they are a steal! :)
-
I got those Hella ballasts today and they are genuine. :) I ended up getting the pair for $27.98 shipped. Not bad at all.
These 35 watt Hella Gen 3 ballasts appear to be exactly like the Murci ballasts with the exception of the connectors on the end. Instead of D2S connectors, these have what looks like KET connectors. So my plan is to swap the connectors out. I am investigating how to hook up the new connectors correctly. If anyone happens to know, I would appreciate any info.
Dustin, I don't mean to hound you but if you could find time to attach those detailed pictures of the large projector, that would be great. You don't happen to have that amber lens or the other small light do you? I'd love to see some detailed pics of those to try to find suitable replacements. I know you are busy doing more important things (like finishing your car). :)
-
Pines I totally forgot, I'll go outside right now and take pictures, I'm on my phone or I would upload them tonight. Thanks for the reminder, sorry for the wait... ::duh
And I don't have any other OEM lights that go into the bucket..
Dustin
-
Test picture from my phone..

Thanks! Those are great! :)
-
Good news! D2S connectors can easily be added to those cheap Hella ballasts I picked up making them exactly the same as the OEM ballasts at a fraction of the price.
Again, the ballasts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161090619782?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/161090619782?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649)
plus the D2S connectors: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290960103493?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/290960103493?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649)
Gives you a pair of OEM spec ballasts for $36.88 including shipping! You really can't beat that.
WARNING: Working with these ballasts involves high voltage. Please exercise caution.
Hookup is dead simple. There is a large red wire and a smaller wire which is sometimes yellow. The large red wire goes to the center contact and the smaller yellow wire goes to the outside/edge contact in the D2S connector. Then all you need is the projector lenses for a complete headlight set-up.
-
I purchased some Audi A6 projectors on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/161038041823?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&autorefresh=true) and have confirmed they are the exact same part as on the Murcielago (see Mr. Butler's pics above). The electric lid in these is interesting. It works just fine with a little 12v power. The brown wire is negative and the white, positive.
-
String has asked for close-up pics of the solenoid connectors so he can try to source the parts. We all know how Neil likes his connectors to be spot on. :)
I couldn't figure out how to release the connectors and I didn't want to break them so this is the best I could do for now. It looks like there is a hinge on one side and a buckle on the other but I can't get my smallest flat head driver in there to unlatch it. Want to describe to a dummy how to do this? ;)
-
Looks like the 'hinge and latch' that go across the connector are to hold the terminals in place, here is a picture of my socket ,and the only place for the plug to latch onto is down the sides adjacent to the hinge . If you can peer down and see if the yellow sticks out a bit then it would just need a small implement inserted to release each side.
I only asked as I was going by ebay pics which showed the wires unplugged. ;D
-
Wow, I feel dumb. Yep, I just pulled on them and they came right out. I just assumed they were the locking type of connectors. You know what happens when you assume...
I hope these pics help. The only marking on them is the number 2 as seem below. Hopefully, you will be able to find the correct connector. If you do, please post back here so we can add it to the list.
Mike

A trip to the junkyard turned up a nice pair of 1974 Mercedes door hinges. They cleaned up real nice. These are the hinges described in the first post. I have also attached a pic of the car they came from.
-
Power window switch from a Cadillac Catera. I should have taken a picture of the car I got it from but I didn't think of it.
-
Seat belt upper covers/caps from two different BMWs described in the first thread. A decent day at the junkyard. :santa
-
wow those door latches look incredible!! i would really like to have a set that looks like those
-
I just used a little solvent and elbow grease to clean them up. It is hard to tell from the pictures but the strikers are brushed aluminum and the latches are brushed steel. I don't know if they are all like that or if I got some special ones.
-
Man check this page out an click on part number 34, You can also look up any other parts you need.
