Young guys aren't into it because you can finance a new amg Mercedes with zero down- they have nothing saved up and just able to make the monthly payments

Building a kit car you need lots of cash saved up, otherwise you run out of money, have a garage full of non running junk parts, then abandon your build and sell at a huge loss like 90%+ of people who start

Hey Eddie, I'm in my 40's...lol, I was more referring to the early 30's and 20's guys out there, they are more in the import tuner craze than ever before, The fast and furious series in my opinion has made a huge influence, its just easier and less expensive to trick out existing cars than building one.

And getting back to the replica industry most are shut down like naerc, ifg, top gun, triangle g, d&r etc.... so that kills the enthusiast.

sorry hope I'm not taking this topic off course

you could be right Sam, I noticed the 40's  guys are more in to high end cars like AMG and M beemers etc. maybe have no patience to spend years in garage and want to drive it now.

Myself and two other local lambo builders attended the sylmar a.k.a. AHA replica car show that just past, We didn't take our cars though, it has really decreased in attendance since the days at knotts, and I think for a couple of reasons, For one the lack of passion in wanting to build a replica as the next generation behind us is just not that interested. And two the legal force in shutting down businesses that were producing the replica kits like lambos and ferraris etc..  Just my .02

I would like to start a similar challenge for west coast members

There is the Sylmar replicar show which just passed in the la area and in the fall there is the nckcc northern California show , both of which have seen the modern kits fade away. The nckcc show used to have tons of ferrari and lambo clones .

We need to bring these show back to life

I have 8 cars signed up to come to Carlisle next year.  Who will be #9??  This will be Carlisle's 30th year of the event.  Who said that there will be a gift for each of the owners of the Lambos who bring their cars??????  Stay tuned.

We would love to see everybody at the show next year but honestly don't think anyone would tow or drive all the way across the country to get there.  It would be fantastic but unrealistic. So please don't think we would hate you if you don't come.
We do draw from quite a few states and I will try to convince a few non-lamboclone replica owners I know about to get them to be there next year.
This is all about fun.  We always have a good time there and even if it is one or two cars or more, it will still be fun.
We have a year to go to plan for the event.  A lot can happen by then.  If you can make (it with or without your build) give it a good consideration.
See you there!

It isn't enough to want a Lambo, you have to want to BUILD A CAR.

I live 580 miles from Carlisle.  I have trailered my Diablo to Carlisle in 2013.  It would have been easier if I was 40 years old but I am well past that young age.  I drive slower now and plan ahead so that I don't have the pressure of the long trip.  AutoPro, you turkey,  we don't expect any cars from west of the Mississippi but we will welcome you anyway.  There is always scheduling, work, and family that come first and then think about coming to Carlisle.  I think that we could have a good representation with cars from neighboring states around PA.  It's totally up to you if you decide to come.
Keep working on those cars.
