The head lamps are sweet! Did you make them?

Man tell me about it, I just have to keep plugging along and STOP making changes :P

Now I have to remake my motor mounts to drop the engine a little, relocate the oil drain plug to the rear of the pan, mount the bumper, fenders....

It never ends

Coming along, Adrian.  They're like jigsaw puzzles.  One piece at a time.  Only we don't have the box lid picture to look at. ::headbang ::LAMBO

Oh yeah, I am on that forum also  very knowledgeable bunch. The interesting thing about the 01X is that no one has data to support that claim of only surviving 300hp.  My box has the ratios that I was looking for and I am not planning to "RACE" mine though spirited driving is in it's future.

Besides the 01E is becoming harder to find

Depending on hp you should look for an Audi 01E. That is the highest rated 2wd Audi box and handles 450 BHP and similar torque.

01X is your second best option and should be good for 300+ BHP. I actually learned alot at the www.gt40s.com forum. There are some genuine gearbox experts over there.

Jackal

P.S. I was told to stay way clear of 012 boxes. I bought my 01E from England on Ebay. It was from Prestige motors. They break all the big Audis. S8's, A8, S8 etc. etc. You will come right there.

The hinge supports have not been added in these pics
Ground clearance is yet to be defined since I changed the roll cage and seats, but currently it is about 3.5"-4"

Two questions, Adrian.  Where are your door hinge supports?  and what is the ground clearance under your butt?  Better build a skid plate and slide it in your pants ;-) ::headbang ::headbang ::headbang
