Title: Corvette suspension identification
Post by: norcaldiablo on April 01, 2013, 08:39:48 PM
How can I tell if I have a C4 or a C5 setup in back? They were on the car when I got it.

Thanks

C4 has the "dog bone" bars on each side from the control arm assembly to the frame. C5 didn't have them and the upper ball joint is inverted.

The C4 could probably be called a trailing arm design while the C5 and C6 is a double a-arm design.  The C4 uses the axle as the upper link and has U-joints while the C5 and C6 have CV joints.
