Guys, use BMW full size sedan CV axles. They have the same spline pattern as the Corvette and S10 hubs and a flange style mount on the other end. The bolt pattern in that flange is different from the commonly used transaxles, but a simple adapter is cheap and much easier than cutting up axles. The BMW axles are available in numerous lengths at any auto parts store for under $100 and they are a healthy 1-1/8" thick. Also, the adapter can be made any thickness to fine tune the required length. If you are using a Hall Effect speedo sender, cut the sender grooves into the adapter while it is being machined and save several hundred dollars on parts later.

I welded these here at home, I hope they are alright  ::scratch.  Now I have to go and get my welding buddies that know about this to tell me if I have to redo it.  This will be a pain because I already put them back in the car last night.  Thanks for the heads up Eddie  ::thumbup

Hey thanks guys  ::salute

So today I went to a machine shop near my house and I had some bushings made to join my Passat and Chevy C-10 axles.

Here they are after being welded all together.

Now that I have my door windows thanks to Purple, I had to try an put them in to see how they look.  I still need to find a proper seal that will work for me but one of these days I will take a trip to the junk yard to see what I find.

Awesome work dude! They look perfect.

Thank you bro, but I can't take all the credit for these.  I drew them up in CAD and then my friend Carlos had them laser cut by a company in L.A.  He also cut and welded the tabs for mounting them.  Hopefully I will get them this week so I can install them on my bumper.  If anybody would want a set I can put you in contact with him.

Here it is after removing the mold, I'm pretty happy with the results and it will make lining up my front end much easier.

As soon as you want I can send the mold to you so you can do the same.  It will definitely stiffen things up.  ::headbang
