Title: John Watson build... Need lots of stuff!
Post by: Onewickedsvt on May 22, 2012, 08:17:36 PM
Guys, building a Watson 640. Let me know what you have.

I need anything body, interior, lights, mechanical... Anything.

I need first door latches and hinges, then I need light buckets and any other deck lid hinge I might need. That's my primary.

My secondary are making the windows work, so anything window related.

I also need side glasses and windshield too.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if the APG Diablo glass will work in the Watson bodies?  From what I know, these are based from an actual Murci however I don't know if the glass between the Murci and Diablo was interchangeable (probably not).

I called AGP a couple of weeks ago and asked them about Murci glass but they told me they only had glass for the Diablo.  They didn't mention anything about being interchangeable, but then I didn't think to ask.

A glass maker here in Tijuana told me that he would charge me between $500.00 and $700.00 dollars to make the windshield.  Still seemed high to me but he said it depended on the difficulty.

agp will not work, call this guy  (561) 301-2369  he has them for $1300.00 ,it does not have the radio antenna  built in ...going mostly oem is very costly

I would be looking for parts cars so you can buy the OEM stuff used and save some money.  There are several guys on Ebay that are parting out Lamborghini's that will be able to help you out.

Fear not, once my parts come in,there will be many pics.

I have been looking like a madman for parts and to be honest, no one really has good parts. I am ordering inner a pillar sheet metal and b pillar sheet metal from a lambo oem supplier. Total cost, 1100$, but at least I will have sheet metal integrity and oem looks for the pillars.

Ikr seems like the man to talk to but it's harder to get in touch with you than the president! I need a gauge cluster ikr! Send me prices of what you got bro!

I was thinking you had the kit, I can wait
actually I can't but yeah :P

oem interior panels are upholstered sheet metal? I would have thought they were plastic like most other things. Or the suppliers are just replicating them out of sheet metal for some reason?
I'm wondering what everyone is doing for this stuff (a pillar covers, etc) for the ones that arent using murcie-me's. No one talks about this. I wouldn't think donor car panels match up.

Yea i delayed him as I made shipping arrangments for half the kit and now I added the doors. My problem is space, i only have enough room to hang the first half and then when that's done, the second half will be shipped!

Hence me needing the door mechanisms, glass, motors, and hinges! I want to hang these stupid stubborn doors ASAP!

Ikr, pm me your murcy price list so I can get some order list going!
What do those overlays go on top of? How do they get functional?

Thanks brother!

Be careful what you buy for that car, no one around here is building that kit yet and g28 parts aren't oem parts
I'd understand cluster background but stuff like oem dash is bigger than ours, etc. You pretty much have to buy oem parts that is why watson is not even doing replica interior.

here is some OEM glass.  They want $3,000 for the windshield and $1,300 for each door glass.  That's atrocious.  For those prices I'd be paranoid of getting a crack in the windshield, Gotta love Lamborghini. ::LAMBO2

Have you tried to go to a glass company?  They can make most any shape out of glass.

I know john wouldn't mind helping he's the man and he's on a budget so I wonder what he's planning on doing. Unless he's saving all his money for the glass but I don't think he would spend that much on glass.

I was told that the 98-04 Ford Focus Side Marker lights on the European models will work on our front fenders.  Here is an eBay link:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-04-FORD-FOCUS-Turn-Side-Signals-CLEAR-New-Pair-/220849055769?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336ba12819 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-04-FORD-FOCUS-Turn-Side-Signals-CLEAR-New-Pair-/220849055769?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336ba12819)

I will probably order a pair since they are cheap enough the only problem is that I don't have the fenders yet to be able to tell you if they fit properly or not.
