They plasti dipped it!!

It appears to have been coated in something that can be peeled off later without hurting the original paint.  If you watch the video you can see areas that were left white and I'm guessing that these were locations where peeling the coating off would be difficult and possibly harm the paint (makes you wonder if it would've been easier to have just wrapped it). 

The effort was awesome and Richard Hammond is a class act.   ::salute

Peels off pretty easy imo. The thicker the coat the easier it comes off.

For wrap I think it requires taking panels off if you wanted to still see all the seams
