The fun begins at about 21 seconds into the video:
Miami Vice Car Chase - Crockett chases a rapist (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU964Wtmkkc#)
Enjoy,

I have always loved this chase scene. It's from Miami Vice (Season 2). The episode is called "Bought and Paid For". Even as a high schooler watching this I immediately caught one of the many blunders MV had while filming. Notice that two different Countach were used. What appears to be an '85 model then to an '86 (the first yeat the new tail lights/rear appeared) !!

What do you suppose the chances are that the car with the smaller taillights was a replica since it appears in all of the scenes that involve real risk to the car. The Daytona was a well known replica and they had several replicas for the Testarossa since it was one of the first in the country. I could be that both Countachs were real and they wanted additional chase footage but the first car wasn't available.
My money is on the stunt car replica theory.

I would tend to think they rented one or the other for filming and then had to re do some portions and the same car was not available?? Not too many quality replicas were available at that time.
Ferarri themselves had a close eye on the Testarossa because I believe it was a loaner, at first, to promote the new flagship Ferarri. Any "dangerous" scenes were filmed with replicas, and scenes that actually involved the the need for power or speed were filmed with believe it or not.... a Pantera with a fiberlass Testarossa body on it !
